Wednesday’s Commentary: Smooth

(Listen daily for the RP Commentary on All New Hits 98 & LTD Radio)

It’s Random Thoughts Wednesday! Here we go:

#1 – The good news I teased last week about the Ottawa REDBLACKS was that they had a new team President coming. I knew it was between Mike Morreale and Henry Burris, but didn’t which one it would be. On Tuesday, they tabbed Morreale.

Both are longtime friends of mine and I knew Ottawa couldn’t go wrong either way, but the move is already being criticized because fans and staff wanted Hank. It never seems to go smoothly for the RedBlacks!

#2 – It’s Brady Tkachuk’s return to Ottawa tonight for the first time since asking for a trade out of the nation’s capital and he returns with the Florida Panthers. Hey – he’s having an unreal season with the Cats and would ask for the trade 10 outta 10 times again. Sometimes in life we make tough choices and have to live with the consequences. This tonite doesn’t need to be a big deal.

#3 – Sometimes the results of our daily poll surprise me. On Tuesday we asked RP Show viewers if they’re excited about this World Series match-up which begins Friday with Tampa Bay at Milwaukee. Nearly 80% said they are! That’s tremendous, and this clash doesn’t take much hype. Neither team’s won a World Series before and the last time two teams met looking for their first MLB title was 1980 when the Royals and Phillies went head-to-head (the Phillies won that one).

So with the vast majority of sports fans saying they’re gonna be tuned in, the next question has to be: who are you cheering for?

For me, it’s gotta be the Brew Crew.

That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary.
