CO-OP STEPS UP TO PRESENT CANADA WEST TV

EDMONTON – Canada West TV will have the power of an iconic Western Canadian brand behind it beginning this season, as Canada West and Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) announced Co-op as the presenting sponsor of Canada West TV on Thursday.

Canada West TV Presented by Co-op is the latest evolution of the conference’s streaming platform, which has seen sustained growth over the last three seasons in terms of both viewership, and quality.

“For Western Canadians, Co-op is an iconic brand synonymous with community. Like Co-op, Canada West and our student-athletes are committed to our communities, with connections to cities and towns across every corner of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba,” said Canada West President Clint Hamilton.

“Co-op’s desire to partner with Canada West, and specifically on Canada West TV, shows the progress we’ve made as a conference over the last several seasons. We are excited to see how the partnership between our two organizations can grow in the years to come.”

The multi-year agreement will see Co-op branding integrated into all Canada West TV webcasts, along with collaboration on social media content throughout the season.

“Canada West TV is a fantastic product that gives students, alumni and fans of university athletics the opportunity to stream their favourite university sports, no matter where they are,” said Carey Tufts, FCL’s Director of Marketing and Communications. “We’re proud to partner with an organization that supports university programs and student-athletes. Canada West TV has a strong presence in virtually all of the Western Canadian communities Co-op serves, so we believe this sponsorship is a great fit for both organizations.”

The 2019-20 Canada West season continues Friday as a new football season kicks off.
