WINNIPEG – Des Catellier threw three touchdown passes to Macho Bockru, and he was backed by a defence that forced seven turnovers as the Manitoba Bisons downed the Saskatchewan Huskies 43-19 on Friday in U Sports football action.
Catellier was 14-of-19 passing for 163 yards – with Bockru making six catches for 99 yards.
Mattland Riley helped out the Bisons (1-0) offence by going 5 for 5 on field goals and 4 for 4 on extra points.
“It looked to me like most of those were decisive shots right through the uprights with plenty of leg on them,” said Bisons head coach Brian Dobie.
Mason Nyhus was 27 for 39 for 315 yards with one TD and two interceptions for the Huskies (0-1).

MONTREAL – Marc Dequoy sealed the win with a 20-yard interception return for a TD in the game’s final minute to get the Carabins (2-0) over Sherbrooke (0-2).

EDMONTON – Adam Sinagra threw a touchdown and rushed for another while Deane Leonard ran back an interception 62 yards for a TD as Calgary (1-0) downed Alberta (0-1).
