We covered it all on Episode 184 of The Rod Pedersen Show! Here are the highlights:
- Rod and Dupes were joined by The Silver Fox Kelly Remple for The Rollout for Flooring Superstores. They outlined these Elite 8 show topics: 1) Oilers pot 8 in Nashville, Neon Leon scores 4, 2) The CFL considering a change to the Rouge, 3) BC Lions pitiful media coverage; who’s to blame?, 4) Brier, 5) Saskatchewan’s Matt Dunstone is 3-1 in Kingston, 6) Warriors at Pats Tuesday, and Millionaires at Broncos, 7) Where is Tom Brady going?, and 8) The Blue Jays in 2020.
- Sportsnet Oilers’ Gene Principe joined the show from Edmonton’s morning skate in Dallas. He discussed Monday’s 8-3 Oilers win at Nashville, tornadoes brewing in Music City when the Oilers departed at 11:00 pm local time, and previewed the Stars/Oilers match-up Tuesday night. Gene also discussed his flamboyant intros to Oilers broadcasts and how he feels pressure to come up with something new each game.
- The Silver Fox talked about attending his first-ever Saskatchewan Rush game on Saturday versus Toronto, and said it was a jaw-dropping atmosphere. He said he loves curling too, but realizes why the NLL is a preferred-choice for adrenaline junkies like Rod.
- CFL great Jovon Johnson signed a 1-day contract with Winnipeg Tuesday morning to retire as a Blue Bomber. Jovon joined the show from the USA and explained why he chose the Bombers over the Riders. He discussed his career highlights, but admitted he feels he can still play. He also explained why he’s such a strong advocate for the CFL among players he currently coaches in the States.
- CBC’s Dan Plaster joined the bunker in Hour 2 for a wide-ranging CFL chat. Dan’s worked in WHL radio in Lethbridge, Red Deer and Regina, Global TV and for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He gave his thoughts on changing the Rouge, CFL media coverage, and the panel debated if the Blue Bombers could supplant the Roughriders as the CFL’s marquee franchise.
- The Voice of the ND Hounds Jamie Neugebauer joined the bunker for an SJHL playoff preview, and explained why his Hounds missed the playoffs in 2020.
