CFL SIM: TORONTO 10 HAMILTON 0

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts continued their strong start to the 2020 CFL SIM season with a 10-0 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Saturday at BMO Field.

In a computer-simulated game on Doug Flutie’s Maximum Football, kicker Boris Bede accounted for the Argos scoring hitting three field goals (21, 25 and 15 yards) while counting a rouge on a 54-yard miss in another low-scoring Week 2 SIM game.

The Argos improved to 2-0 under first-year virtual head coach Ryan Dinwiddie, as quarterback Matt Nichols threw for 148 yards and one interception. WR Juwan Brescacin led the Boatmen in receiving with 57 yards on two receptions. Natey Adjei caught three passes for 15 yards while running back Marcus Thigpen counted 22 yards rushing. Linebacker Bear Woods stood out on defence, coming up with his first interception of the season.

It was a tough virtual day for Ticats (1-1) quarterback Jeremiah Masoli who passed for just 105 yards and the pick. Brandon Banks accounted for 49 of those yards on nine receptions. Sean Thomas Erlington had 26 yards on the ground while CB Delvin Breaux came up with an interception. The Ticats turned the ball over on downs on three occasions.

The Ticats are back at Tim Hortons Field, hosting the Saskatchewan Roughriders (1-0) in Week 3 on Thursday Night Football. The Argos have a Week 3 bye.
