CFL SIM: BC 27 MONTREAL 9, EDMONTON 16 OTTAWA 3

VANCOUVER – The BC Lions ran their winning streak to four straight games with a 27-9 win over Montreal at a sold-out BC Place Stadium in Week 7 of the 2020 CFL SIM season.

In a computer-generated game on Doug Flutie’s Maximum Football, a defensive struggle saw the teams locked at 0-0 after the opening quarter. The BC defense was stingy as O’Shane Samuels came up with his league-leading 5th interception and Keon Lynn recovered a fumble in the second quarter. That’s where the Lions offense opened up as Mike Reilly found Shaq Johnson for an 8-yard TD reception and the Alouettes could only muster a Tyler Crapigna field goal on the ensuing drive. BC led 14-6 at halftime.

Brandon Rutley and Dominique Rhymes scored second half touchdowns for BC while Montreal had to settle for field goals in an eventual 27-9 Lions victory.

Reilly passed for 251 yards and two TD’s while his counterpart Vernon Adams Jr. tossed for 292 and one INT.

The Lions record is now 4-3 while the Alouettes fell to 2-4.

OTTAWA – New name, same success.

In a computer-generated game on Doug Flutie’s Maximum Football Thursday afternoon, the Edmonton football club shook off a home loss to Toronto in Week 6 to rally for a 16-3 victory over the still winless Ottawa RedBlacks at TD Place.

Ricky Collins Jr. led all Edmonton receivers with 81 yards, Shaq Cooper scored the game’s only TD on a 4-yard run, and Sean Whyte booted three field goals as the visitors upped their record to 5-1, matching Toronto for the overall league lead.

Ottawa (0-6) could only find the scoreboard on a rouge and safety concession.

The RedBlacks will look for their first win when they visit Saskatchewan in Week 8 on Thursday Night Football while Edmonton hosts Hamilton on Friday, July 31.

Week 7 of the SIM schedule concludes with Hamilton at Calgary. That game will be simulated Friday evening at www.twitch.tv/nhacker49.
