The Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks were all winners in North Division action last night. Connor McDavid scored twice, including the O-T winner in a 4-3 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Jacob Markstrom got to celebrate his 31st birthday with a 37-save shutout on the Montreal Canadiens. Finally, Brock Boeser scored twice in a 4-1 Canucks win over the Winnipeg Jets. Edmonton and Ottawa will play each other later tonight.

Agent Darren Ferris confirmed to the Canadian Press via email that two of his clients are seeking greener pastures. Calgary Flames forward Sam Bennett and Montreal Canadiens defenceman Victor Mete have asked for trades according to Ferris. Bennett has one assist in seven games this season while Mete has yet to play a game for the Canadiens in 2021.

The Toronto Raptors are back in action tonight against the Orlando Magic. The Raptors have lost back-to-back games and are hoping to keep their latest losing streak from reaching three games. Orlando is coming off back-to-back losses of their own.

The Los Angeles Rams have acquired quarterback Matthew Stafford from the Detroit Lions in a big trade. Stafford will go to Los Angeles in exchange for Jared Goff, two future first-round picks and a third-round draft choice. Both signal callers were selected first overall in their respective draft classes.

Mikyla Grant-Mentis scored twice for the Toronto Six, including the winner with 23 seconds left, in a 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Whitecaps last night at Herb Brooks Arena. The Six have now won three games in a row. The Six will play today against the Connecticut Whale.
