REGINA – Rhett Rhinehart recorded his first career hat trick and Koen MacInnes stopped 20-of-21 shots as Saskatoon (14-2-2) improved to 5-0-1 in its last six with a win over the Pats (6-9-3), who have dropped three in a row without their rookie star Connor Bedard.

The Pats were outshot 33-21 while going 0/1 on the powerplay and 5/6 killing penalties. Roddy Ross took the loss in goal but was named the game’s #3 star. Captain Logan Nijhoff scored Regina’s lone goal, at 3:08 of the second period, his ninth.

Regina (6-9-2-1) returns to action Sunday at 8:00 pm versus the Prince Albert Raiders at 8:00 pm on AccessNow TV and 620 CKRM.

REGINA – Max Paddock kicked out 45 shots including 21 in a lopsided second period, and Michael Horon and Eric Pearce scored the goals as Prince Albert (7-8-3) handed Moose Jaw (7-10-1) its third consecutive defeat.

OIL KINGS 4 HURRICANES 0

LETHVEGAS – Sebastian Cossa stopped all 30 shots he faced while staying undefeated in 12 starts, and the Edmonton Oil Kings blanked the Lethbridge Hurricanes 4-0 on Thursday in Western Hockey League action.

Cossa’s second shutout of the season helped Edmonton pick up its fourth win in a row. He’s 12-0-0 in 2020-21 and leads all WHL goaltenders with a 1.33 goals-against average and .948 save percentage.

Carson Latimer, Jayden Henderson, Jalen Luypen and Matthew Robertson scored for the Oil Kings (13-1-0).

Carl Tetachuk turned away 23-of-27 shots for the Hurricanes (6-7-2), who were 3-0-1 in their last four outings before meeting Edmonton.

KAMLOOPS, B.C. – Drew Sim only had to make 16 saves for his first career shutout and Justin Sourdif scored the first of four straight goals as Vancouver (6-3-0) blanked Victoria (1-7-1), which has lost four in a row and eight of nine.
