PATS POUND WARRIORS 7-1
Regina, Sask. — The Regina Pats were too much for the Moose Jaw Warriors to handle on Sunday afternoon, as the Regiment rolled over their Highway 1 rivals by a score of 7-1.
It was the Pats first game since January 1 and the Warriors third game in three days, and right from the get go, it was clear rust was not to be a factor for the home side.
The Pats struck four times in the first 8:07 of the game, with goals from Jakob Brook, Connor Bedard, Zack Stringer and Tanner Howe.
Even though the Warriors, got one back before the first period ended, the visitors didn’t have enough energy to launch any sort of comeback, with the Pats adding a pair of second period goals and one in the third to come away with a convincing victory.
Regina’s power play was a big reason for Sunday’s success: as it went 3-for-5.
Tanner Howe was named the game’s first star thanks to a four-point performance (2G, 2A), while Connor Bedard (1G, 2A), Ryker Evans (3A) and Logan Nijhoff (2A) each also registered multi-point games. Thirteen different Pats had at least a point in the win.
