MONDAY RUNDOWN – LIVE FROM CALGARY

We opened a brand new week with the first of our residency shows live from Grey Eagle Resort & Casino in Calgary! Read on for the rundown:

  • RP and Moose Dupont kicked it off with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) NFL’s Sunday Wildcard Playoff games and the Cowboys abysmal loss to the 49ers, 2) Monday Night Football features the Cardinals at Rams, 3) Next weekend’s Divison Playoff games feature Bengals/Titans, 49ers/Packers and Bills/Chiefs so far. Bet Regal has already posted the odds!, 4) The lone Sunday NHL game featured Vancouver beating Washington 4-2, and we examined the Flames and Oilers, 5) A recap of the MMA Pallas Athenas Womens World Fighting card, and 6) The Raptors will face the Kyle Lowry-less Miami Heat Monday night.
  • Montreal Alouettes Special Teams Coordinator and Sky Sports NFL analyst Jeff Reinebold joined the show from Europe to breakdown the weekend NFL games. He feels the Cowboys loss can be chalked up to all of too many penalties, sloppy play and a far too undisciplined showing by a team that’s better than what they showed. Regarding the Patriots beatdown in Buffalo, Jeff felt the New England players showed very early on that they were beaten. Reinebold also previewed the Cards/Rams game and feels Los Angeles is primed to be upset given the fact they can’t stop the run and have pass coverage deficiencies.
  • In Hour 2 for Great Western Original 16 Beer we kept the party rolling by explaining the relationship between the RP Show and Grey Eagle, and previewed upcoming live shows including Letterkenny, Pam Tillis & Lori Morgan and much more! The panel also debated the discouraging results of the Leger Poll on Canadians’ appetite for the CFL.
  • Calgary Flames great Theoren Fleury joined the show but there was little talk of the NHL. Both Theo and Rod are certified Recovery Coaches, having received their certification from the same academy, and discussed how society is dealing with the pandemic. Fleury said he’s drawn the ire of people on social media but said he’s used to it, having been booed in every WHL and NHL arena he ever played in. Theo also told several old time WHL stories and related how the Warriors/Pats red hot rivalry was born in the mid-1980s.
  • The Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Who will win a first round playoff first – the Dallas Cowboys or Toronto Maple Leafs? At press time the results were around 50/50.
  • Friday’s Rockstar of the Day for Rockstar Supply Chain Solutions was Blue Bombers player Jackson Jeffcoat. Monday’s Rockstar of the Day was Theoren Fleury.
  • Join us Tuesday at 12 pm ET live from Grey Eagle on Game+ TV, YouTube Live and RodPedersen.com/ListenLive!
