PATS DROP 5-4 DECISION IN LETHBRIDGE
Lethbridge, Alta. — A power play goal from Joe Arntsen with 2.3 seconds remaining in regulation sunk the Pats on Friday night in Lethbridge.
The Hurricanes defenceman notched his fourth goal of the season on a shot from the middle point that changed direction on its way to the back of the net.
This particular contest saw plenty of special teams, first for the Pats with six consecutive power plays, and then for the Hurricanes, with four in a row.
Regina went ahead 2-0 on goals from Ryker Evans and Cole Dubinsky, but Lethbridge then stormed back with three consecutive goals in the second to momentarily take the lead. Evans’ second tally of the game evened the score 3-3 before the second intermission.
In the third, 20-year-old Justin Hall regained the lead for Lethbridge, but Stanislav Svozil got the Pats the equalizer just two minutes later.
The Hurricanes were awarded a power play with 49 seconds to go in regulation, which led to Arntsen’s game-winner.
Connor Bedard had two assists for the Pats, and was minus-2. The attendance was 2,542.
The Pats ended the night 2-for-6 on the power play and 3-for-4 on the penalty kill.
