PATS BLANK HITMEN 5-0, BEDARD HAS FIVE POINTS

Regina, Sask. — It was a night to remember for Kelton Pyne and the Regina Pats on Friday night at the Brandt Centre, with the young goaltender from White City Saskatchewan picking up his first career Western Hockey League win by blanking the visiting Calgary Hitmen 5-0.

Pyne was making just the second WHL start of his career and first at home, and turned aside all 24 shots he faced.

Connor Bedard kept his hot play going in style, factoring in on all five goals, with a hat-trick and two assists, bringing his season totals to 52 points in just 35 games. Ryker Evans also had a standout performance, with a goal and two helpers, bringing his point total to 46 in 41 games.

The Pats power play went an impressive 3-for-4 on Friday, while their penalty kill went 2-for-2.
