- RP and Moose Dupont kicked it off with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) The L.A. Rams won Super Bowl LVI with a 23-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals (did the refs give them the game?), 2) Rod clarifies his controversial Tweet over the weekend regarding Canadian sporting events needing to become “must-attend”, 3) Olympics coverage, 4) NHL Sunday games, 5) Brandon Banks is an Argo, and 6) NLL weekend wrap-up.
- The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: How do we rate the Super Bowl halftime show – Great or Not So Great? At press time, over 60% of respondents voted for GREAT.
- Sirius XM/NHL Radio’s Scott Laughlin joined the show from Toronto and applauded the Super Bowl for how great of a game it was, however he felt Prince’s Super Bowl halftime performance in Miami was the best-ever. Regarding other teams in the NHL’s Bermuda Triangle, Laughlin figures the Oilers will pull themselves out of a funk and become a playoff team however he predicts the Jets will not.
- In Hour 2 for Great Western Original 16 Beer we were joined by new Toronto Argonauts RB Andrew Harris. The Winnipeg product explained that leaving the Blue Bombers was the toughest thing he’s dealt with in his career however, despite contemplating retirement, he feels he’s still got lots to prove at age 34. He said he did his negotiating with Argos GM Pinball Clemons said he got very good vibes off the Toronto organization. Harris revealed that he wasn’t pleased with how his 2021 season went down and didn’t want his career to end that way.
