MONDAY RUNDOWN: KEON RAYMOND, BERNIE NICHOLLS & MORE!
It’s a big week in sports with the Stanley Cup Playoffs kicking off and the CFL Draft on Tuesday! We had a blast with Monday’s Episode #747 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports & Entertainment Talk! Here’s the rundown:
- RP and Moose Dupont got it going with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) Rod had a blast at Sunday’s Canadian Premier League game in Calgary with Calvary FC beating Pacific FC 2-0, 2) Mark Sheifele draws the ire of Winnipeg Jets fans with his season-ending comments (RP had no problem with them), 3) Stanley Cup Round 1 predictions, 4) Monday’s NHL game preview, 5) Junior hockey playoffs, and 6) Three Canadians go in the NFL Draft on the weekend.
The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Should the Winnipeg Jets bring back Mark Scheifele? At press time over 70% of respondents said no.- Calgary Flames Mental Performance Coach Matt Brown joined the boys at Grey Eagle and talked about their Round 1 series against Dallas. Matt covered plenty of topics including dealing with athletes through the pandemic, his time coaching Olympic athletes, and much more.
- 2-time Grey Cup champion Keon Raymond (Stampeders, Argonauts, Tiger-Cats & Titans) joined the show to talk ball and recap his stellar career. He previewed the 2022 CFL season and took plenty of questions from viewers. He’s currently Head Coach & GM of the BCFC expansion franchise in Prince George and discussed growing the game of football in Canada. Regarding CFL changes, Keon said it’s akin to “putting lipstick on a pig”.
- Bet Regal NHL ambassador Bernie Nicholls joined the show to preview the Stanley Cup Playoffs and play the Bet Regal NHL Pick-Up Challenge against Rod with Round 1 prop bets. The Kings & Rangers great said the Leafs will be in tough against Tampa Bay!
- Friday’s Rockstar of the Day for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions was Danny Austin. Monday’s was Keon Raymond.
