TUESDAY RUNDOWN: WHEN IN ROME …

The fun times kept rolling with Episode #797 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports & Entertainment Talk – Tuesday at Grey Eagle Resort & Casino in Calgary! Here’s the rundown:

• RP and Moose Dupont got it going with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) The CFL gives its longest-ever suspension – 4 games – to Roughriders defensive lineman Garrett Marino, 2) The Leafs acquire goalie Matt Murray from the Senators, 3) The NHL’s free agent goalie carousel, 4) The Blue Jays face Philadelphia Tuesday night at Rogers Centre and the Phillies will be missing four regulars whom are unvaccinated, 5) The British Open tees off this week at St. Andrews, and 6) The Calgary Calvary welcomes the Halifax Wanderers Tuesday night in Canadian Premiere League action.
• Segment 2 was dedicated almost entirely to CFL talk including the Marino suspension and CFL fan reaction, and a preview of Touchdown Atlantic this weekend between the Riders and Argos. However the hosts feel the marquee game of the week is Friday Night Football between the 4-0 Stampeders and 5-0 Blue Bombers in Winnipeg.
• TSN NHL Insider Dave Poulin joined the show from Toronto to preview free agency and said he’s a big fan of the moves made by the Montreal Canadiens and agrees with the assessment that Chicago is in a full-on teardown rebuild.
• In Hour 2 we were joined by Sportsnet Winnipeg’s Sean Reynolds who said there’s not much free agency buzz in Winnipeg due to the fact it’s never really been a big day for the Jets. He implored Jets fans to give new head coach Rick Bowness a chance but admitted the fans feel a big letdown that it’s not Barry Trotz. “Renny” answered several viewer questions including Evgeni Malkin heading to free agency.
• The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Can the Leafs win a Stanley Cup with Matt Murray in goal? At press time 90% of respondents said no.
• Monday’s Rockstar of the Day for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions was Morley Scott. Tuesday’s was Sean Reynolds!
