DUB ROUND-UP: BLADES GET BEDARD’ED

Regina, Sask. — The Regina Pats extended their winning-streak to two games as Connor Bedard tallied five points, including a hat-trick in a 7-4 triumph over the Saskatoon Blades at the Brandt Centre in front of 5,651 fans on Friday night.

Connor Bedard scored a hat-trick (32nd, 33rd, and 34th) as part of a five-point game to lead the Pats to their 20th victory of the season. Zack Stringer (second), Steel Quiring (first with the Pats and fourth overall), Braxton Whitehead (fourth), and Borya Valis (15th) also scored for the Pats in the win. Stanislav Svozil tallied four assists in his first game back from the World Juniors, and Drew Sim kicked out 21 of 25 shots for his 16th win of the season.

The Pats had led 3-2 after two before unloading for four goals in the final frame, earning their first victory of the season against the Blades. The seven goals against Saskatoon were the most that the Blades had given up all season long.

Trevor Wong (14th), Egor Sidorov (19th), Brandon Lisowsky (21st), and Tanner Molendyk (fifth) replied for the Blades in the loss. Ethan Chadwick stopped 18 of 25 shots for the Blades. Saskatoon has now dropped six of their last seven games (1-3-3-0).

ROYALS 4 ROCKETS 0

VICTORIA – The Victoria Royals got goals from four different players and shutout goaltending from Braden Holt to defeat the Kelowna Rockets 4-0 in Western Hockey League action on Friday at Save-On-Foods Memorial Arena.

Reggie Newman, Teague Patton, Riley Gannon and Ryan Spizawka scored for the Royals (11-25-3-1), who led 2-0 after the first period and scored two late goals in the third. Holt made 29 saves.

Jake Poole and Matthew Hodson each had two assists. The Rockets (13-22-3-0) were outshot 40-29.

CHIEFS 4 GIANTS 2

LANGLEY, B.C. – Chase Bertholet scored twice, including a goal with 2:01 left in the third, as the visiting Spokane Chiefs beat the Vancouver Giants 4-2 at Langley Events Centre.

Tommaso De Luca and Ben Bonni also scored for the Chiefs (8-27-1-2).

Ty Thorpe scored both goals for the Giants (16-18-4-2).

THUNDERBIRD 3 RAIDERS 2

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – Jordan Gustafson’s goal at 10:12 of the third period stood as the winner as the visiting Seattle Thunderbirds defeated the Prince Albert Raiders 3-2 in Western Hockey League action on Friday in Saskatchewan.

Brad Lambert and Kyle Crnkovic also scored for the Thunderbirds (30-6-1-1).

Niall Crocker and Sloan Stanick scored for the Raiders (14-23-3-0), who were outshot 34-28.

TIGERS 4 WHEAT KINGS 3

BRANDON, Man. – Cayden Lindstrom scored the game-winning goal at 16:59 of the third period as the Medicine Hat Tigers edged the Brandon Wheat Kings 4-3.

Dallon Melin scored twice, while Hunter St. Martin added a single for the Tigers (14-20-5-1).

Nolan Ritchie, Nate Danielson and Evan Groening scored for the Wheat Kings (17-19-4-0).

WARRIORS 4 WINTERHAWKS 2

MOOSE JAW, Sask. – Eric Alarie scored twice as the Moose Jaw Warriors defeated the visiting Portland Winterhawks 4-2.

Ryder Korczak and Cosmo Wilson also scored for the Warriors (25-14-0-2).

James Stefan and Jack O’Brien scored for the Winterhawks (28-7-2-1).

HITMEN 6 BRONCOS 3

CALGARY, Alta. – Carter MacAdams and Jacob Wright each had a goal and an assist as the Calgary Hitmen beat the visiting Swift Current Broncos 6-3.

Carson Wetsch, London Hoilett, Riley Fiddler-Schultz and Oliver Tulk also scored for the Hitmen (22-12-3-1).

Caleb Wyrostok, Mathew Ward and Brady Birnie scored for the Broncos (19-17-0-1), who were outshot 48-33.

REBELS 4 OIL KINGS 1

RED DEER, Alta. – Jace Isley had a goal and assist, Jayden Grubbe had two assists and the Red Deer Rebels beat the visiting Edmonton Oil Kings 4-1.

Jhett Larson, Kalan Lind and Jace Weir also scored for the Rebels (28-8-1-3).

Loick Daigle scored for the Oil Kings (6-34-1-0), who were outshot 38-35.

HURRICANES 4 COUGARS 3

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. – Tyson Laventure scored 47 seconds into overtime and the Lethbridge Hurricanes edged the visiting Prince George Cougars 4-3.

Miguel Marques, Tristan Zandee and Anton Astashevich also scored for the Hurricanes (23-15-0-2), who were outshot 34-31.

Ethan Samson, Chase Wheatcroft and Riley Heidt scored for the Cougars (14-22-4-0).

BLAZERS 5 SILVERTIPS 3

EVERETT, Wash. – Ashton Ferster had a goal and an assist as the visiting Kamloops Blazers outlasted the Everett Silvertips 5-3.

Matthew Seminoff, Olen Zellweger, Ryan Hofer and Daylan Kuefler also scored for the Blazers (24-8-4-2).

Jackson Berezowski scored twice for the Silvertips (18-19-1-0), while Austin Roest netted a single.
