WEDNESDAY RUNDOWN: A ROYAL SHOW!

We had a lot of fun and somebody blew off some steam on Wednesday’s Episode #920 of The RP Show – Daytime Sports Talk – on Game+, WQEE Radio and YouTube Live! Read on for the rundown:

  • RP and Moose Dupont got it going with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) Philly defenceman Ivan Provorov skips warmup on the Flyers Pride Night for religious reasons. This topic spanned the whole show!, 2) NHL leftovers included some arguments over which was the game of the night: Leafs/Panthers or Kraken/Oilers?, 3) Rod’s NHL Top 5 are BOS – NJD – TOR – WPG – VGK, 4) This week’s Bottom 5 are VAN – CHI – ARZ – ANA – CBJ, 4) NFL Division Playoff Preview: JAX/KC, NYG/PHI, CIN/BUF, DAL/SF, 5) Dub Hub and OHL results and 6) Is the NBA a trash product? Some media pundits suggest it is while our hosts disagree.
  • The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Whose side are you on in the Ivan Provorov situation – Provorov, NHL or Undecided? At press time, 49% voted for Provorov, which led.
  • To accompany our weekly NHL Top 5/Bottom 5 and NFL Deal or No Deal segments, our exclusive betting partner shipped Rod a king’s robe to wear on-camera and promised that a crown is on its way!
  • ESPN Radio Cincinnati’s Mo Egger joined the show for an NFL chat and reflected on being in the stadium the night Damar Hamlin suffered a life-threatening injury. Mo said it’s miraculous to think Hamlin could attend this weekend’s Bengals/Bills game in Buffalo. Egger went on to predict Cincinnati and Jacksonville will win upsets this weekend.
  • In Hour 2 we were joined by The Sports Doctor Dave Petrishen from Winnipeg for a wide-ranging chat. As a Vikings season ticket holder, he wasn’t surprised by Minnesota’s Wild Card playoff loss to the Giants. Regarding the Jets loss at Montreal Tuesday night, Dave felt it was a mere blip on the season. And on the topic of his beloved Bombers, the Doc said the lack of drama with the club isn’t boring at all, and said the turnaround the club’s experienced under GM Kyle Walters and Head Coach Mike O’Shea remains miraculous.
  • 13-year NHL veteran and scout/broadcaster Rich Sutter joined the show for a look at the Flames. Regarding the pressure surrounding the 8th-place team in the Western Conference, Sutter advised that it’s all media-driven and that people need to BACK OFF! He feels the Flames are right on schedule, and also expects the Oilers and Jets to be in the playoffs as well.
  • If you missed the show you can catch the replay at 10 pm PT/12 am CT on Game+ TV or on our YouTube Channel. You can also find the show wherever you enjoy your podcasts.
  • See you Thursday at 12 pm ET on Game+ TV, YouTube Live and WQEE!

It also has nothing to do with this players religion. He most likely sees fje USA virtue signaling crap and decided to sit in the dressing room. We need to get back to basics. Like NBA cover stories where those guys go bankrupt by having 9 kids by 11 different women. Or… Read more »
