Commentary: Ball For All

(Listen daily for the RP Commentary on the All New Hits 98 & LTD Radio)
About 99% of my friends say this is the best time of year. I’m in the 1% who finds the Spring the greatest season of the sports calendar, and that’s solely because of hockey playoffs.
But in truth, right now is heaven for a sportscaster with almost every other sport going on.
Fall is for football but it can be a tad overwhelming, especially if you try to keep tabs on it all. At the top of the food chain is the NFL, who’s headed into Week 3. Not too many had the Green Bay Packers as the #1 team in the 4-down league going into the season, but here we are. Who they beat means a lot when putting together Power Rankings and early season wins over Washington and Detroit – plus the addition of rush end Micah Parsons – have the Pack on top of the heap right now.
Your friendly neighborhood Saskatchewan Roughriders are at the top of the pack in the CFL at 10-3 but wouldn’t you know it, they have this week off.
So many in the Rider Nation won’t know what to do with themselves during the bye! They might want to consider following another league but sadly, for some reason, so many never will.
It’s Week 4 in US College Football and one of the beauties of that league is if you ask 10 people who the best team is right now, you get 10 different answers. It’s taken me a few years to get a grip on that animal, but I finally have. And it’s fun.
And don’t tell anyone who’ll be at Griffiths Stadium in Saskatoon on Friday night that USport isn’t a big deal too! It’s the Rams at Huskies in a Hardy Cup preview and that place will be jammed. Wanna make a bet that one of those teams plays in the Vanier Cup at Mosaic Stadium in November?
Oh – and the Blue Jays have won six in a row and NHL teams open training camp tomorrow.
It’s a good time of year. But the Spring is great.

I’m from Regina Saskatchewan, not a Riderville country Bum’kin wingnut. The sask roughriders of the cfl are irrelevant in today’s world. MLB, NFL, NHL, WHL is where it’s at, 100%.
Here’s a very sporty idea for riderville to ponder_ Doug Ford and Scott Moe have a 15 round boxing match over EV Tariffs as they are at odds over the subject. Moe imploring carnage carney to lift the tariffs while Ford wants them to remain in place 100%. I’ll take Ford for the win!
