Friday Commentary: Can’t Wait

(Listen daily for the RP Commentary on All New Hits 98 & LTD Radio)
A coupla three or more thoughts entering the weekend …
#1 – Now it’s reallllly gonna get fun! The Yankees advanced out of their wildcard series with a ho-hum 4-0 home victory over the Red Sox Thursday. Now we go to the American League Division Series featuring the Blue Jays and Yankees beginning Saturday at Rogers Centre.
This one should go the limit. Both teams won 94 games this year and the Jays got home field and the pennant thanks to their 8-5 win in the season series.
Enjoy every single second!
#2 – A viewer of the RP Show wrote in this summer and called us a “Bandwagon Blue Jays show”.
To that I say, “Thanks for noticing.”
#3 – Okay … what in the world is going on with the NFL this year? I went to bed Thursday night with San Francisco up 14-0 over the L.A. Rams and while I wasn’t totally convinced the underdogs had it in the bag, I was shocked to wake up and learn it went to overtime with San Fran winning 26-23. The last couple minutes of regulation were head-spinning.
“No lead is safe?” I thought that was the CFL’s slogan.
And #4 – Speaking of the CFL, Week 18 kicks off tonight with the Saskatchewan Roughriders at the Ottawa RedBlacks. RP Show viewers voted Calgary-at-BC as the Game of the Week, but this one tonight in the nation’s capital has plenty of intrigue.
The Riders are trying to avoid a third straight loss, they left struggling kicker Brett Lauther at home and are going with a rookie, and it’s a must-win game for the RedBlacks.
I’m not confident picking a winner!
But can’t wait to watch.
That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary.

If former General Manager/Head Coach Chris Jones was in charge of the Saskatchewan Roughriders you can bet your bottom dollar Lauther and a few others would have been gone a long time ago at the very first signs of playing decline. You just can’t hang onto players because you have a soft spot for them as the current Roughriders general manager does. Professional sports is always the next man up game to improve, that’s the mantra of success, always improving over what you have.
