A coupla three thoughts entering the weekend …

#1 – Don’t look now but the Dallas Cowboys have won three straight, including their 31-28 Turkey Day victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Jerry World.

Ya – I bet on the Chiefs but here’s a tip: if you bet against your favorite team but they win, it’s a win either way.

Now dreams of the Super Bowl are dancing in Dallas fans heads, a month after ESPN loudmouth Stephen A. Smith declared the Cowboys season over.

It’s all just the craziness of sports.

#2 – They’re down to the Final Four at Canada’s Olympic Curling Trials in Halifax. I’m paying attention now! It’s Matt Dunstone and Brad Jacobs on the mens side, and Rachel Homan and Christina Black on the women’s. I’m rooting for Rachel the most. We did an event together in Paradise Hill, Sask years ago and found her to be one of the coolest athletes I’ve ever met. Don’t judge a book by its cover.

#3 – The NHL took one day off to enjoy Thanksgiving back is back at it today with 15 games. Pay attention! The old hockey adage says 80% of teams in playoff spots today will go on to achieve the postseason. A year ago five Canadian teams made the playoffs but a year later, only the Ottawa Senators are in a playoff spot.

I’m really thinking you can throw that stat out the window as there are 60 games per team left to be played.

And #4 – I’ll be winging my way back to Canada today and my Sask friends are telling me to bring my long johns. Frankly I think they’re just trying to scare me; it’s as if they forgot I lived there for a half century. But I’ll pack em just in case.

And they say Black Friday is the busiest travel day of the year in the US. Wish me luck …

CFL note_

Hamilton Tiger Cats;

Saskatchewan Roughriders Assistant General Manager Paul Jones should be and must be interviewed for your vacant team General Manager position. Mr. Jones is a winner with a big vast resume of accumulated experiences along with CFL Championships, most recently Grey Cup 2025 with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He’s what you’re looking for with all his prerequisite football credentials on both sides of the 🇺🇸/🇨🇦 Border.
