Hopefully the chaos is ending.
The NHL got back to work with eight games Wednesday night and that seemed to quiet the fervor related to USA’s mens hockey team visiting the White House this week.
Quieted it, yes. But didn’t get rid of it.
There were two Games of the Night as far as I was concerned: the Leafs visiting Tampa and the Golden Knights visiting LA as Artemi Panarin made his Kings debut.
One went as planned, the other did not.
In Tampa, it was the same old Leafs as the Lightning recorded their sixth win in a row, beating Toronto 4-2. It shoulda been 6-2, but the Bolts had two goals called back.
It warmed my heart to see that the Battle of Florida hasn’t gotten completely out of control. Panthers fans offered condolences to Tampa coach Jon Cooper, who missed the game due to the passing of his father.
If we can leave it on the ice, that’s where it needs to be. Therefore I haven’t lost all faith in humanity.
Meanwhile in LA, Golden Knights Olympians Mitch Marner, Mark Stone, Shea Theodore, Jack Eichel and Noah Hanifin all didn’t play but Vegas still whipped the Kings 6-4. Artemi Panarin had a pair of assists in his Kings debut, but clearly he can’t do it alone.
Nobody can.

I guess Jets fans wanted him to give the medal back?
I don’t know what to say about that.
That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary.

The Hellebuyck thing is just more evidence this country is sliding into a bolshevist 3rd world hellhole. The TDS is strong in this “country ” if mental asylums were still a real thing they’d be at or near capacity. Connor should demand a trade and the hell out. Winnipeg is the absolute toilet of Canada followed closely by Regina and Saskatoon.
Not in disagreement but with a little bit of pushback. Winnipeg may have trouble attracting players, but for the guys who play there it is paradise on Earth. Winnipeg is a hockey city made for hockey players and the people there are great fans. My experience has been they are truly grateful to have that team back and will shovel player’s driveways out. Hellebuyck is not leaving he loves it there and he knows he’s love. The football players are the same. When have we ever heard of fans having abhorrent behavior? Regina on the other hand is a complete… Read more »
