BC Lions 24, Toronto Argonauts 17
The BC Lions continued their late-season surge Saturday afternoon, defeating the Toronto Argonauts 24-17 at BMO Field for their third straight victory. The Lions’ (9-6) offence struggled to finish drives, but kicker Sean Whyte more than made up for it, connecting on a franchise-record eight field goals — one shy of the league record set just a week earlier. Nathan Rourke threw for 254 yards and rushed for another 50, while BC’s defence came up with a pair of interceptions and twice stopped Toronto on the goal line in the final minutes. The Argos (9-7), who got 292 passing yards and two touchdowns from Nick Arbuckle, saw their four-game winning streak come to an end.

Montreal Alouettes 37, Winnipeg Blue Bombers 10
The Montreal Alouettes clinched first place in the East Division with a dominant 37-10 victory over Winnipeg Saturday night at Percival Molson Stadium. Montreal jumped out early and never looked back, piling up 548 yards of offence and 36 first downs while holding Winnipeg to just 182 yards and six first downs. Davis Alexander was outstanding, completing 30 of 40 passes for 440 yards and a touchdown, while Canadian receiver Tyson Philpot enjoyed a record-setting night with 11 catches for 207 yards. Philpot established new Alouettes single-season records for receptions and receiving yards by a Canadian. The victory guarantees Montreal (12-3) a bye and home-field advantage in the Eastern Final, while the Bombers (7-8) slipped to the bottom of the West Division.
