DUB ROUND-UP: PATS LOSE, BEDARD HITS 60

REGINA — The Regina Pats fell to the Edmonton Oil Kings 3-2 on Wednesday inside the Brandt Centre.

The Pats got goals from Tye Spencer and Connor Bedard who scored his 60th of the season, becoming the fifth fastest Regina Pats player to 60 goals in team history. Meanwhile, goaltender Kelton Pyne made 27 saves, keeping the Pats in the game throughout.

The contest was tied at one late in the first period before the Oil Kings would take a 2-1 lead into the second. After making it 3-1 after two, the Pats got on the board midway through the third before ultimately dropping their second straight contest.

Luke Robson, Marshall Finnie and Gavin Hodnett scored for Edmonton, while Kolby Hay led them to victory with 31 saves as the Oil Kings snapped their 11 game losing-streak.

BLAZERS 7 SILVERTIPS 1

EVERETT, Wash. – Olen Zellweger and Jakub Demek each had a goal and two assists in leading the Kamloops Blazers to a 7-1 blowout victory over the Everett Silvertips on Wednesday.

Jakub Demek, Harrison Brunicke, Fraser Minten, Connor Levis, Matthew Seminoff and Ashton Ferster also scored for Kamloops (42-11-4-2), which won its fourth straight.

Matthew Kieper turned away 28 shots.

Eric Jamieson had the lone goal for Everett (30-27-2-1) 14:14 into the second period.

Tyler Palmer stopped 28-of-33 shots before Tim Metzger saved nine of the 11 shots he faced in 10:45 of relief.

REBELS 2 HURRICANES 1

RED DEER, ALTA. – Chase Coward had a 20-save, near-shutout effort as the Red Deer Rebels narrowly edged the Lethbridge Hurricanes 2-1.

Jhett Larson, with a short-handed marker, and Kai Uchacz scored for Red Deer (40-17-2-3).

Chase Pauls ended Coward’s shutout bid with a short-handed goal with 17 seconds remaining in the game for Lethbridge (32-23-3-3). Bryan Thomson made 34 stops.

BLADES 5 BRONCOS 3

SASKATOON – Josh Pillar scored twice, Ethan Chadwick made 16 of his 36 saves in the third period and the Saskatoon Blades defeated the Swift Current Broncos 5-3.

Brandon Lisowsky, Tanner Molendyk and Jayden Wiens also scored for Saskatoon (43-13-4-1).

Josh Filmon, with two goals, and Clarke Caswell responded for Swift Current (28-29-1-2). Reid Dyck stopped 23-of-27 shots.

COUGARS 6 ROCKETS 2

KELOWNA, B.C. – Ethan Samson had a goal and an assist as the Prince George Cougars cruised past the Kelowna Rockets 6-2.

Cayden Glover, Koehn Ziemmer, Chase Wheatcroft, Ondrej Becher and Zac Funk also scored for Prince George (31-24-5). Tyler Brennan made 16 saves.

Gabriel Szturc and Carson Golder replied for Kelowna (23-34-3), which got 41 stops from Jari Kykkanen in their third straight loss.

WHEAT KINGS 2 TIGERS 0

BRANDON, MAN. – Nicholas Jones delivered a 26-save shutout to lift the Brandon Wheat Kings to a 2-0 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers.

Zakhar Polshakov and Nolan Ritchie scored for Brandon (25-8-8), which won its second in a row.

Beckett Langkow stopped 23-of-24 shots for Medicine Hat (26-26-8-1), which dropped its second straight.
