REGINA — Mosaic Stadium was home sweet home for the Toronto Argonauts on Friday night.
In a designated “home game” for Toronto – who’s been displaced by the World Cup at their normal home field of BMO Field in Toronto – the Argonauts “hosted” the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Mosaic Stadium.
And Chad Kelly and Co. truly made themselves at home, upending the Riders 40-34 to hand the reigning Grey Cup champions their first loss of the 2026 CFL season (2-1).
Kelly was particularly comfortable, throwing for 321 yards, two touchdowns and one interception as the Boatmen went to 2-1. He is now 4-0 against Saskatchewan career. Kelly’s counterpart Trevor Harris tossing for 409 yards for the Green & White, with two TDs and one INT.
The Double Blue was in control throughout, leading 10-0, 20-17, and 30-24 by quarter, and they won the turnover battle 2-1. The attendance was listed at 25.035.
In the absence of power back A.J. Ouellette for Saskatchewan, replacement Quali Conley was the team’s leading rusher with 50 yards while KeeSean Johnson was the leading receiver with 112 yards.
Kicker Alex Hale went 2-2 on field goals.
Saskatchewan visits Ottawa in Week 5 while Toronto visits Calgary.

I don’t know what was off about that game. There was the special teams touch down and Chad Kelly just knifes the ball in for some big plays. A great air raid game. Trevor Harris is resembling Kent Austin with the yardage. Missing AJ Oulette was a huge difference. There are RBs but that guy makes the other team sit in a cold tub this morning. Oh well. Once again, the so-called best fanbase in the CFL embarrassed themselves again. A perfect Friday night and a stadium that looked half empty. The only thing this fanbase is the best at is being whiny and cheap.
I wonder how many pigeons scooped up those awful uniforms.
Wrong – Shaun semple bought the Brandt employee group bulk free tickets. Last year his foreign workforce turned out but got upset when they could claim it as 3 hours overtime
This year the Filipinos decided to try and call it in for 3 hours sick pay vs show up
We can see how HR handles it on Monday.
My guess it will get authorised as paid leave and Semple will write off the tickets as a taxable benefit.

CFL and Craig Reynolds should be disgusted at that stunt that was pulled off last night. You don’t say it’s a road game and promote it as a road game and then basically do a home game. This game should have been played somewhere in southern Ontario, Yeah, you had some Argo ads on the field, but there was no need to hear screechy Sabeen and Mark or hold the same promotions that you would have at a home game. Great night for football and it looks like there was very little to zero walk up. Those 50 and older don’t want their precious CFL to change, but those in SK younger than 50 are seemingly too cheap to go or they don’t care.
When did CFL secondarys become so bad. A lot of bad DB play so far. That means pts which isn’t a bad thing, but the receivers and QBs aren’t that good.
There is a thread on Riderfans about the jersey. It says they all sold out last night with many shirts and polos getting sold too. Why the hell would anyone want to shell out $200 for those. Are there that many pigeons out there? If Reynolds used this “road game” to create another jersey that he knew gullible members of Rider Nation would swallow up, then a tip of the hat to him for suckering so many.
