FLAME TECH FOOTBALL FRIDAY RUNDOWN

ROH

Fridays are reserved for football on The RP Show and we tackled all the latest news on Episode #336! Here’s the rundown:

  • RP and Dupes opened with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) NHL Free Agency opens on Friday!, 2) TNF: Chicago squeaks past Tampa Bay 20-19, 3) Sask Health announces a Return To Play for Sask Hockey, 4) The CFL’s #1 Draft prospect is Iowa lineman Alaric Johnson from Windsor, 5) The NBA Finals could end Friday night, and 6) CFL SIM Canada’s Game of the Week saw Ottawa upset Saskatchewan 14-8.
  • Hall of Fame Rider broadcaster John “Frenzy” Lynch joined the bunker in Segment 2 and the guys discussed the future of the CFL. While Canadian football fans are antsy and want news on a plan for 2021, RP stated that the CFL isn’t obligated to divulge their plans. Frenzy disagreed, and said a statement would be nice. They had a back-and-forth with the viewers on the subject.
  • RP Show NFL Insider Tori Gurley joined the show from Toronto to offer his weekly Tori’s Tips for Wheaton Kia and Fanduel. He said his heart goes out to NFL’ers who are dealing with the chaos created by Covid outbreaks. Tori said the players sacrifice so much to play the game and if their game cheques are withheld due to forfeits, that’s the worst possible scenario. Gurley took Fantasy questions from viewers and fielded all of Lynch’s NFL-related questions.
  • The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Who is the most-coveted NHL free agent – Taylor Hall, Alex Pietrangelo, Jacob Markstrom or Other? At press time, Pietrangelo was leading by a wide margin.
  • Hour 2 was broadcast on Facebook Live only and we were joined by Toronto Argonauts defensive end Craig Roh from Austin, TX. It was a wide-ranging, entertaining chat where Roh reflected on his CFL stops with the Lions and Bombers (winning a Grey Cup in 2019), promoted his new book Craig Roh’s Pass Rush Bible, and several other things. He stated that the NFL will find a way, no matter what, to finish the season due to the money involved. Roh spent two seasons with the Carolina Panthers before coming to the CFL. He gushed about what the CFL has meant to his wife Chelsea and him, and can’t wait for the CFL’s return. The Scottsdale product said the funniest teammates he’s had are Willie Jefferson and Mic’hael Brooks.
  • There were sprinklings of NHL signings throughout the show and Rod and Dupes analyzed them as the show went on.
