FLAME TECH FOOTBALL FRIDAY RUNDOWN

It was another football-filled edition of The RP Show for Episode #364 of Canada’s Daytime Sports Talkshow! Here’s the rundown:

  • Rod and Dupes got it going with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) The CFL announces the All-Decade Team with Bo Levi Mitchell leading the way, 2) The Seahawks held off the Cardinals 28-21 on Thursday Night Football, 3) More Grey Cup memories/talk/CFL SIM Grey Cup, 4) How will the CFL need to change when it comes back?, 5) Will there be an NHL season (there’s starting to be some questions), and 6) The CHL announces the E-Memorial Cup gaming tournament.
  • There was a distinct Ottawa flavour to the show as RedBlacks DB Sherrod Baltimore and 15-year old digital filmmaker Jordan Zlomislic joined the show from the nation’s capital. Jordan’s founded JZ Media (follow him on Instagram) and has produced a 4-part series on Ottawa football. Sherrod Baltimore is featured prominently in the series, and he discussed how the pair came together. Baltimore also revealed that he has been paid by the RedBlacks during the pandemic and while it’s not as much as he’d like, at least it’s something. They talked about the importance of football in Ottawa, the outlook for the RedBlacks, and how projects such as this can enhance the CFL’s profile.
  • The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Who will win the 2020 CFL SIM Grey Cup – Ottawa or Saskatchewan? At press time, over 80% voted for the Roughriders.
  • Hall of Fame Roughriders broadcaster John Frenzy joined the bunker and they debated the future of the CFL. During the show news broke of the 2021 schedule and fans from across the league chimed in with their thoughts. Rod wonders if the schedule release can be taken as a guarantee that there will be a season?
  • Hour 2 was simulcast on Game+ TV and Facebook Live and we were joined by NFL Insider Tori Gurley for his weekly Tori’s Tips fantasy advice for Wheaton Kia. Tori said Thursday’s Seahawks win doesn’t guarantee them supremacy in the NFC West, and that it’ll be a dogfight to the end. The former Packers & Browns WR answered a barrage of questions including the future of the Buccaneers, the mess with the NY Jets, the undefeated campaign of the Steelers and much more.
  • 3DownNation Insider Justin Dunk joined the show for an unscheduled visit to breakdown the CFL schedule. Dunk examined the ins and outs of the schedule which will cutdown on cross-country travel. RP and Dupes faced off on whether the CFL will play at all next season and Rod said it will even if there’s no fans allowed while Dupes said they won’t play if fans aren’t in stadiums.
  • You can vote now on our Twitter poll for the Rockstar of the Day for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions. Thursday’s winner was Luca Congi.
  • The MySask 411 Business of the Week is The Tap & Ballers Rec Room. Ballers is hosting a U.S. Thanksgiving football feast next Thursday and RP Show personalities will be in attendance.
