Fridays are for football on The RP Show and we gave fans all they could handle on Episode #249! Here are the highlights:

  • Rod and John Frenzy got it going with The Rollout for Flooring Superstore covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) Riders lose $200,000 in 2019, 2) Friday Night Football in the CFL preseason would’ve had Winnipeg at Saskatchewan and Calgary at BC, 3) The NBA will Return To Play on July 31 with 22 teams, 4) ESPN’s Max Kellerman says Americans don’t care about the NHL, 5) MLB players reject the owners’ latest proposal for a 2020 season, and 6) The SJHL Draft goes Friday afternoon.
  • The guys kicked around the Bombers-at-Riders exhibition tilt and said they’ll be running a computer simulation of the contest on Doug Flutie’s Maximum Football video game. They discussed how much the QBs should play and the ramifications of the game.
  • News broke during the show that Chris Cuthbert is leaving TSN for Sportsnet and the panel debated Cuthbert’s impact on the CFL and what this news means.
  • Sportsnet’s Arash Madani joined the program from his home in downtown Toronto and talked about how meaningful change regarding race in society can be made. He discussed the hurdles the CFL faces in its Return To Play plan, and said it’s impossible to predict how the Raptors will fare in the NBA Playoffs due to the long layoff and all the variables involved in the situation.
  • Former Redskins, Eagles, Blue Bombers & Eskimos coach Mike Kelly joined the show from Florida and revealed he’s a huge fan of the RP Show, rarely missing a day. The controversial coach told many football stories, discussed the importance of the CFL to the game of football, told an amusing story about Donovan McNabb and much, much more.
  • In Hour 2 the guys were joined by the Voice of the Edmonton Eskimos, Morley Scott. He reported on pandemic life in Edmonton, reflected on the Jason Maas era with the Eskimos and how he’ll fit in as Offensive Coordinator of Saskatchewan, and gave his thoughts on new Rider QB James Franklin.
  • The CFL on TSN’s Milt Stegall joined the show from his home in Atlanta and said he can’t imagine life in the CFL without Chris Cuthbert. The Hall of Famer talked about race relations in the US, how Roy Shivers tried to get him to sign in Saskatchewan in 2005, and said he’d like to stage a comeback at age 50 and win back some of his old records.
  • The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: If there’s no MLB season in 2020, will you miss it? Over 70% of respondents said no.
  • You can vote now on our Twitter poll for the Rockstar of the Day for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions. At press time, Coach Mike Kelly was leading.

Milt Stegall with the Saskatchewan Roughriders 2005, that would have definitely taken the Riders over the top and winning at least 3 Grey Cup Championships guaranteed. At age 50 Milt Stegall in better shape than most men playing now, sign him up immediately Saskatchewan, he’ll get you that elusive title you so covet, guaranteed.

Heard it all before when Chris Jones came over in 2016. Would win 1 Cup minimum, probably 2 during his 3 year contract. Now it’s 3 Cups with Stegall??? Maybe Stegall looked at QB’s Marcus Crandell & Nealon Green & didn’t like what he saw. Green was Tim Tebow before Tim Tebow. He’d been around for 7 years & done nothing. Marcus had been kicking around for 8 years & was in decline. Why would Stegall sign with those 2 in charge pitching the ball? Milt’s no dummy.

Marcus Crandall plus Milt Stegall, that’s automatic Championships glory for the Riders. Milt needs a Grey Cup, sign him Saskatchewan. At 50 years of age, he’ll show the little boys how to play the game right.
