FRIDAY COMMENTARY – IT’S ABOUT TIME

(Listen daily for the Rod Pedersen Commentary on Cat Country 98 FM & Rock 98.5 FM)

TODAY’S A PIVOTAL DAY, ON A FEW FRONTS.

THE ROUGHRIDERS ARE HOME TO THE TORONTO ARGONAUTS IN A QUASI-LATE START (7:45 PM) AT MOSAIC STADIUM, AND IT’S WHAT I’D CALL A SWING GAME.

I’D LOVE TO GIVE YOU A DETAILED BREAKDOWN OF THE MATCH-UP BUT FOR SOME REASON, I DIDN’T GET THE GAME NOTES. (I CAN TELL YOU ALL ABOUT HOW THE TICATS HAVE WON 10 IN A ROW GOING INTO TONIGHT’S HOME DATE VERSUS CALGARY, BUT I DIGRESS).

BUT I DON’T NEED STATS TO TELL YOU THAT BOTH THE RIDERS AND THE ARGOS HAVE 3-2 RECORDS. THEY’VE GOTTEN THERE DIFFERENT WAYS. THE ARGOS HAVE SORT OF BEEN WIN-LOSS, WIN-LOSS, WHILE THE RIDERS HAVE FOLLOWED UP A 3-GAME WIN STREAK WITH A 2-GAME LOSING STREAK.

SOME WOULD CALL THAT STREAKY, BUT I PREFER TO CALL IT CONSISTENT.

THE RIDERS OPENED THE SEASON AT HOME AGAINST BC WITH FIREWORKS, SCORING TOUCHDOWNS ON THEIR OPENING THREE DRIVES. NOW IT’S BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE THEY’VE EVEN SCORED A TOUCHDOWN.

SO THAT’S WHY TONIGHT’S CONTEST IS A SWING GAME; DO THE RIDERS SNAP OUT OF IT OR WOULD A LOSS SIGNAL THAT THE REST OF THE CFL HAS FIGURED THEM OUT?

OH, THE INTRIGUE!

IN THE MEANTIME WHILE THE RIDERS TAKE TO THE FIELD IN THEIR CUSHY HOME TONIGHT, I’LL BE WINGING MY WAY TO FLORIDA FOR WHAT WOULD BEST BE CALLED AN “NFL & NHL TOUR”. MAYBE WE’LL MIX SOME COLLEGE FOOTBALL IN THERE OVER THE NEW FEW WEEKS TOO.

GAME+ TV AND DUPONT MEDIA HAVE MADE ALL THE ARRANGEMENTS FOR YOURS TRULY TO BROADCAST THE ROD PEDERSEN SHOW LIVE FROM THE SUNSHINE STATE BEGINNING MONDAY AND IT’S GOING TO BE A DREAM COME TRUE.

OUR OFFICIAL BETTING PARTNER BETREGAL.NET IS VERY ENTHUSIASTIC THAT I’M DIVING HEADLONG INTO BIG TIME SPORTS WITH OUR COVERAGE.

THE DOLPHINS AND PANTHERS HAVE OPENED THEIR DOORS – AND PRESS BOX – AND SAID THEY CAN’T WAIT TO MEET ME! FOLLOW MY SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS IF YOU WANT TO TAG ALONG.

IT’S AN EXCITING TIME AND LIKE I SAID, TODAY’S A PIVOTAL DAY IN MY LIFE.

IT’S ABOUT TIME.

Enjoy.

2021 dialogue versus 1977.

I was in florida once. On a southern tour. I met a good person who said, “why don’t you come out by the pool?” So i went out and met up as the person came leaping out of the cabana.

I will finish the story after this soap opera. Something in the plot how this lady has power of attorney and sold this guys car. The person to say the least is “no good”

Miami Hurricanes are playing Michigan State. That would be a good game and it’s also on TV. The Hurricanes out draw the Dolphins, but the Dolphins are on the rise.

I like how the Roughriders poach things essentially from college game day experiences. When the bring ’em out song plays and they run on the field. The white smoke they go through…..that’s an old The U entrance tradition.

HOPE THE RIDERS CAN GET THINGS BACK IN THE RAILS… ANOTHER LOSS WOULD BE ROUGH NOT SURE WHY BIG PLAYS AND THE RED ZONE SEEM TO BE OUR CRYPTONITE.

CONGRATS ON THIS EXCITING TRIP. I’M NOT AN NFL PERSON IN THE SLIGHTEST, BUT IF SMASHING A BOOT OR TWO IN THE DOOR LEADS TO GOOD THINGS FOR YOU, THEN ALL THE BEST!
