FRIDAY RUNDOWN: FLAME TECH FOOTBALL FRIDAY

Fridays are reserved for the gridiron and we tackled ALL the biggest football topics on Friday’s show live from the Grey Eagle Resort & Casino in Calgary, AB! Read on for the rundown:

• RP and Moose Dupont kicked it off with the Warmup from the Event Centre covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) The Oilers got bombed 6-0 by Florida and Rod pointed the finger at Leon Draisaitl, 2) The Blue Bombers announce a new 1-year deal for QB Zach Collaros, 3) NFL Divisional Playoff Previews, 4) Dak Prescott is fined $25,000 for officials comments and Jerry Jones hasn’t committed to keeping Mike McCarthy, 5) The Riders’ Jay Dearborn will represent Canada at the Olympics in 4-man Bobsled, and 6) The Raptors are at Washington on Friday.
• RP Show NFL Insider Tori Gurley joined the show to preview the weekend’s games for Bet Regal and they went through all the match-ups. He’s got the Titans, Bucs and Chiefs to win but feels the 49ers will give the Packers a run for their money. Tori’s also not a big fan of Mike McCarthy, having played for him in Green Bay.
• Calgary Sun football writer Danny Austin joined the show in Hour 2 for Great Western Original 16 Beer for a wide-ranging CFL chat. He feels the Stampeders have come through a mini-rebuild and will contend for first place in the CFL West. He also cautioned Rider fans to be patient with QB Cody Fajardo, but said Cody’s in-season comments about his receivers turned a lot of people off. Regarding the Calgary sports facilities debate, Danny confessed it’s a very depressing situation.
• The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Which is the game of the weekend in the NFL? At press time, Bills/Chiefs was leading.
• The Rockstar of the Day for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions on Thursday was Sportsnet Flames host Ryan Leslie. Friday’s was Danny Austin by a landslide.
