FRIDAY SHOW RECAP: FOOTBALL FRIDAY!

We may be well into the CFL off-season but that didn’t stop us from going deep on the 3-down game on Episode 141 of The Rod Pedersen Show! Among our guests were Argonauts DB coach and Rider great Tyron Brackenridge, Stampeders WR Richard Sindani and Riders DL Jordan Reaves. Here are the highlights:

  • Rod, Dupes, John Frenzy and RP Show Director of Scouting Craig Smith all joined the bunker throughout the show to breakdown the latest happenings in the CFL and tee up Week 16 in the NFL.
  • The first guest was Tyron Brackenridge, who joined the show from Hawaii. He’s been part of the Argos staff the past few seasons and said he awaits his fate under new head coach Ryan Dinwiddie. T-Brack expects to be coaching in 2020, no matter where it ends up being. He also recalled his favourite memories of the 2013 Grey Cup, when he was the Riders’ starting safety. He said he knew it would be the Riders’ day when Darian Durant fumbled the ball into Kory Sheets’ hands on a 1st quarter touchdown drive. Tyron also reported that he’s finishing up his investment planning papers in the New Year, as a secondary career.
  • Rider DL Jordan Reaves joined the show next, from his off-season home in North Carolina. Reaves missed most of the 2019 season with a leg injury but said he’s fully-recovered and will be ready for 2020 training camp. The Brandon U product is a pending free agent and said he knows where he’d like to sign, but didn’t reveal the destination. Jordan discussed his engagement from a few months back, and talked about his brother Ryan Reaves of the Vegas Golden Knights, whom he called the most-feared player currently in the NHL.
  • Stamps receiver Richie Sindani is a UofR grad and was in studio talking about his first few seasons in Calgary. He said he’s part of a great system in Calgary, and is headed into the final year of his rookie contract. He discussed the Stamps losing out to Winnipeg in the Western Semifinal and said there’s nowhere for the club to go but up. Sindani also said what Bo Levi Mitchell’s like as a teammate, and why he’s such a great leader.
  • The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Who’s the best team in the NFL at Christmas: 49ers, Ravens, Saints or Seahawks? 64% of respondents said it’s the Baltimore Ravens.
