FRIDAY SHOW RECAP: TSN DAY ON THE RP SHOW

Friday’s show was Episode #68 of The Rod Pedersen Show! Here are the highlights:

  • It was a very special day! Hall of Fame Rider broadcaster John Lynch celebrated his 82nd birthday and dropping by the bunker were the CFL on TSN/CTV’s Claire Hannah and TSN Winnipeg’s Darrin Bauming. On the eve of Saturday’s Banjo Bowl in Winnipeg, Rod and his guests broke down the match-up and looked at all Week 13 CFL games.
  • Bauming is in Regina to broadcast Friday night’s Regina Rams clash with Alberta on Canada West TV along with Darren Dupont, and they looked at Week 2 in Canada West.
  • It really was wall-to-wall football, as news broke of Antonio Brown’s apology in Oakland so the panel debated that ongoing saga and took listeners’ feedback.
  • Asked who’s responsible for the Riders’ current 6-game win streak, Claire mentioned the bulk of the kudos should go to rookie head coach Craig Dickenson, who the players really want to play for.
  • Dupes joined the bunker along with John Frenzy in Hour 2 and they continued the CFL/NFL discussion. They looked at who’s in and who’s out for the Banjo Bowl, and also talked about the conundrum that is the US Open final, and how it airs at the same time as the Bomber/Rider game.
  • The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Which is Canada’s Game of the Week in the CFL? The resounding winner was the Banjo Bowl.
  • In honour of show #68, the crew looked at sports figures who’ve worn number-68 and the group includes Jaromir Jagr, Andrew Greene, Albert Pujols, Dominic Picard, Glenn Kulka, Lawrie Skolrod and Angelo Mosca.
  • They also promoted Sunday’s Rod Pedersen Show Watch Party II at Baller’s Rec Room for Week 1 in the NFL. Join us to watch NFL games on Sunday! Kids are welcome.
