THERE’S BEEN BETTER SUNDAYS …

SASKATCHEWAN GOT HIT WITH A MASSIVE DUMP OF SNOW AND IT’S THE KIND THAT YOU KNOW WILL LAST FOR AT LEAST FIVE MONTHS.

SO WITH THE SNOW SHOVELING ALL DONE, IT WAS THE TYPE OF DAY TO SPEND WATCHING SIX HOURS OF FOOTBALL. MAYBE NINE.

I’LL ADMIT THAT THE NOTION KEPT RINGING IN MY HEAD THAT MY JOB IN THIS NEW ERA OF MY LIFE IS TO WATCH SPORTS AND GIVE MY OPINION ON THINGS FOR A COUPLE HOURS EVERYDAY.

NOT TOO BAD.

ANYWAY, THE FIRST GAME SAW THE CAROLINA PANTHERS PUT A SCARE INTO DEFENDING CHAMPION KANSAS CITY BUT IN THE END, THE CHIEFS PREVAILED 33-31.

I DON’T HAVE THE NFL PACKAGE. I’M HAPPY WITH WHATEVER’S ON ACCESS CABLE AND WAS CONTENT TO WATCH THE BEST QUARTERBACK IN THE GAME, PATRICK MAHOMES.

BUT THAT REALLY ONLY WAS THE WARMUP FOR THE GAME I WAS WAITING FOR – PITTSBURGH AT DALLAS. WHAT THE PREGAME SHOWS CONSIDERED THE “LOCK OF THE WEEK” WENT DOWN TO THE FINAL PLAY WITH THE STEELERS WINNING 24-19.

I SHRUGGED THAT AT LEAST THE COWBOYS WERE ENTERTAINING IN WEEK 9. PERHAPS THAT’S HOW YOU RIDER FANS FELT DURING THE YEARS WHEN WE WERE TERRIBLE, AND I WAS WEARING GREEN GOGGLES.

AND IN THE NIGHTCAP, TOM BRADY ABSORBED THE WORST LOSS OF HIS CAREER AS TAMPA BAY GOT HUMILIATED BY THE SAINTS, 38-3 ON SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL.

SOME OF OUR VIEWERS TROLLED ME OVER TOM’S PERFORMANCE AND SAID THEY CAN’T WAIT TO SEE HOW I DEFEND IT.

TROUBLE IS, I CAN’T AND I WON’T. I’M TOO BUSY MAKING APOLOGIES FOR AMERICA’S TEAM TO WORRY ABOUT ANYBODY ELSE.

ONTO WEEK 10. (A BYE)
