We lifted the lid on a brand new week with Episode #543 of The RP Show – Canada’s Daytime Sports Talkshow – on Monday! Read on for the rundown:

  • RP & Moose Dupont kicked it off with The Warmup for EECOL Electric covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) Hockey Canada names its Olympic Mens Hockey coaching staff, headed up by Jon Cooper, 2) Week 1 CFL leftovers, 3) Reilly/Rourke saga and how it hurt the CFL’s credibility, 4) Bo DOESN’T Know (The Stamps QB gets caught mouthing off AGAIN), 5) Pro Football Hall of Fame induction leftovers (28 inductees is far too many!), and 6) The Blue Jays take 3 of 4 off the Red Sox but can’t seem to make up ground in the AL East.
  • CFL/NFL vet and current Indoor Football League WR Manny Arceneaux joined the show from Prosper, TX and talked about this three touchdown game Saturday night for the Frisco Fighters. The Lions & Riders alum discussed playing for AFL legends in Texas and what drew him to the indoor game. Manny quickly added that he’s free agent after this season and is eager to return to the CFL! Manny also discussed coaching and training in youth football in the Dallas area and also explained his role as a successful motivational speaker.
  • The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Who was the top performer in Week 1 of the CFL – Brady Oliveira, James Wilder Jr., McLeod Bethel-Thompson or Abdul Kanneh? At press time, Bomber RB Brady Oliveira was leading.
  • We asked viewers for a more dynamic name for the CFL/RP Show Player of the Week. The winning suggestion was the Manscaped Balls Out Player of the Week!
  • In the Hour 2 Second Half Kickoff for CORR Grain we delved deeper into these topics including how detrimental the Lions QB sneakery is for CFL betting. We also talked about the Eastern upsets (Toronto and Ottawa) in Alberta over the weekend.
  • Next up was Super Bowl & Grey Cup champion Brandon London from New York City to chat more ball. The star of NY Giants TV and the Daily Blast Live talked about the return of Giants RB Saquon Barkley to training camp TODAY after missing most of last season with injury. London said Barkley makes the Giants a 2-dimensional offense. He also talked about how feels the Giants will fare under head coach Joe Judge. London spent five seasons (2011-2014) in the CFL with Montreal and he went deep into why he enjoyed his time there, his friendship with Marc Trestman, and how much it meant to him to see the CFL return to play last week.
