MONDAY SHOW RECAP
Monday’s show was Episode #26 of The Rod Pedersen Show! Here are the highlights:
- Rod and Dupes were joined in the bunker for the Warmup by Global Regina’s Taylor Shire. They recapped Saturday’s 37-10 Rider loss to Calgary and each panelist gave his thoughts. Taylor repeated Coach Craig Dickenson’s postgame comment that “We aren’t as good as we thought we were”. Fans weighed in.
- A CFL referee asked Rod for Regina’s best burger on the weekend and Rod was stumped for an answer but he’s not a big burger guy. Viewers and listeners were asked for their suggestions and the Top 4 after Hour 1 made up Monday’s Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre Poll: Who has Regina’s top burger? The top candidates ended up being Bon Burger, Bushwakkers, IceHouse Tavern and The Av3nue. You can vote now on our Twitter account @rodpedersenshow.
- CTV’s Jackie Perez dropped into the bunker in Hour 2 to chat CFL and regale the crew with her stories of being an Argonauts cheer captain. She also brought her two Grey Cup rings. She discussed the plight of her 0-3 Argos.
- RedBlacks coach Rick Campbell joined the show via video chat from TD Place to discuss his team’s 29-14 home loss to Winnipeg on Friday. It dropped his team back to 2-1, and showed them the areas in which they need improvement. He also talked about being an Edmonton kid – the son of CFL legend Hugh Campbell – and how much he’s embraced Ottawa as the franchise’s first-ever coach.
- Rod ranted on the CFL 2.0 initiative and said he feels sorry for Mexican rookie OL Rene Brassea who dresses for every game, but doesn’t see the field. Rod feels the experiment compromises the integrity of the game but admitted “you have to start somewhere”.
- The panel also discussed the new New Gainer, attendance at Rider games and much, much more. You can listen to the show by clicking on the PODCASTS tab on this site, or watch the show on our Facebook page.
- Tuesday’s show will include Rider alum Marshall Hamilton, Leader Post columnist Rob Vanstone and MUCH more!
You would think Riderville would be more concerned about their 1/5 football team 2019 (2 preseason games included) than put all their energy crying over some who cares inanimate mascot object . So gullible it’s somewhat pathetic. If the Toronto Argonauts were a bit better the Roughriders rest assured would be 0/6 win/lost 2019.
