Monday was Episode 122 of The Rod Pedersen Show! Here are the highlights:

  • Rod and Dupes were joined by Social Media Influencer and football reporter Amanda Ruller for The Rollout for Flooring Superstores. They recapped Winnipeg’s 33-12 win over Hamilton in the 107th Grey Cup, and Rod stated that the Bombers “brutalized” the Ticats. He also reflected on his weekend Twitter feud with CFL M.O.P. Brandon Banks saying, “I thought it was all in fun!” Dupes got kudos for predicting that the Zach Collaros trade would be one that paid dividends for The Blue.
  • Stampeders great Keon Raymond joined the show via video chat from Calgary and recapped the Grey Cup game. He also discussed his announcement on the weekend that he’s seeking the Presidency of the CFLPA. He feels an American like himself would bring a fresh perspective to the role.
  • RP Show Director of Scouting Craig Smith joined the bunker in Hour 2 and said although he’s alum of both the Bombers and Ticats, he was cheering for Winnipeg on Sunday since it’s his hometown team. The crew also discussed the merits of Winnipeg’s Andrew Harris being named the game’s Most Outstanding Player and Most Outstanding Player. Amanda – a national level weightlifter – said she has a problem with Harris’s 2-game suspension for PED use being so light this season.
  • NFL Insider Jim Lang joined the show from Toronto to recap Week 12 in the NFL. He described the Cleveland Browns as a “work in progress” and doesn’t foresee a coaching change anytime soon with Freddie Kitchens’ staff. However he does see the Cowboys making a change in light of their Sunday loss in Foxborough and GM Jerry Jones’ comments afterwards. Lang also knows Mike O’Shea very well and doesn’t foresee him jumping ship from the Bombers to the Argos in the off-season.
  • Former Rider/Ticat/Stamp/49er Bakari Grant joined the show from California to discuss his recent retirement from the CFL. He talked about winning the Grey Cup with Calgary in 2018 and also explained why his best season as a pro came with the Riders in 2017.
  • The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: What’s your biggest story coming out of the 107th Grey Cup – Harris as a double-winner, Zach’s revenge, Banks-rupt or The End of the Drought? The majority of respondents said the biggest story is the Bombers ending their 28-year Grey Cup drought.
  • In honour of show #122 the panel debated sports figures who’ve worn #22 in their career and the group included Emmitt Smith, Roger Clemens, Mike Bossy, Jordin Tootoo, Clayton Kershaw, Clyde Drexler and Christian McCaffrey.
