Monday was Episode #103 of The Rod Pedersen Show. Here are the highlights!

  • Rod and Dupes got the show rolling with The Rollout for Flooring Superstore. They recapped NHL Heritage Classic/Prairie Classic Weekend in Regina, and the various games which Dupes called including the Rams, Huskies and Blades over the weekend. They also touched on all the morning’s top sports headlines.
  • Riders/Bombers/Renegades alum Mike Abou-Mechrek joined the bunker in Segment 2 and talked about the Bombers’ home win over Calgary and the Riders’ road win at Edmonton in Week 20. Rod and Abou agreed that Zach Collaros should be Winnipeg’s starting QB in the playoffs. Abou was also impressed by the Rider win saying they started slow, but choked off the Eskimos in the second half. However he also felt Eskimos QB Trevor Harris was impressive after missing most of the last two months.
  • TSN Winnipeg and NHL.com’s Darrin Bauming joined the show via video chat to discuss the Bomber victory and Heritage Classic result. He agrees that Collaros should start in the playoffs. Darrin also touched on the Jets’ 2-1 OT victory over the Flames in the Heritage Classic and how the event couldn’t have come off any better.
  • Rider Hall of Famer Andrew Greene joined the bunker in Hour 2 to talk CFL and NFL (‘Drew played for the Dolphins, Jaguars and Seahawks). He feels the Riders are coming together as a team at the right time, but Rod cautioned that at least four other teams feel they’re teams of destiny too. The panel also discussed Hamilton’s win at Montreal and said the Alouettes are in great shape and coach Khari Jones is clearly setting his team up for a playoff run. They also discussed the Cleveland Browns, who’ve been labelled as the NFL’s biggest disappointment in 2019.
  • 2-time Stanley Cup champion Jarret Stoll of Neudorf, SK joined the show via video chat from the L.A.Kings practice facility in El Segundo, CA. He talked about scoring for the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL’s first-ever Heritage Classic at Commonwealth Stadium and said he was fortunate to have played in five NHL outdoor games. Stolly also discussed the play of Regina Pats alum Austin Wagner with the Kings, what it’s like being married to Fox’s Erin Andrews, and his friendship with New England Patriots star Tom Brady.
  • In the Overtime segment, Rod and Dupes talked more about Heritage Classic weekend and how the show was welcomed with open arms by the NHL. They then previewed Monday night’s Ticket Party in the bunker for the viewers who are joining them on the inaugural Rod Pedersen Show VIP Sports Trip to Houston in December. It’ll be a Monday Night Football Watch Party catered by Legacy Catering, and the trip-goers will be given their NFL and NBA tickets for the excursion.
  • The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Should Saskatchewan get an NHL team? Over 77% of respondents said no.
