RUSH DROP OT DECISION AT COLORADO

Denver, CO – The Saskatchewan Rush are headed back to Canada after an 11-10 overtime loss to the Colorado Mammoth in Ball Arena Friday evening.

The Mammoth started off the first quarter with the upper hand, sneaking two shots past Alex Buque. Veteran Ryan Keenan answered back with a short-handed goal to put the Rush on the board. Colorado added one more before Dan Lintner tacked one on to finish it off 3-2.

Robert Church wasted no time opening the scoring just 25 seconds into the second to tie it up. The Mammoth found the net three times, but the Rush kept it tight with Church, Keenan and Lintner notching another goal each. The first half of the game closed out all squared up at 6-6 with the Rush outshooting the Mammoth 28-25.

The contest stayed tight in the third quarter for both teams. Mark Matthews put one past Dillon Ward less than a minute in and Colorado answered back to keep it a tie game shortly after. Lintner and Church both found the net to tally up a hat trick each. The Mammoth scored two more to finish off another quarter tied up at 9-9.

It was a low scoring fourth quarter with the Rush and the Mammoth putting up one goal each to keep the game a tie. Lintner and Connor Robinson each scored their fourth goal of the evening to send the game into overtime.

The overtime quarter was a back-and-forth battle before Colorado’s Rhys Duch put an end to it with the game winning goal. The match closed out with an 11-10 victory for the Mammoth.
