SUNDAY DUB ROUND-UP: BLADES SNAP PATS STREAK

REGINA – Trevor Wong scored three goals and added an assist as the visiting Saskatoon Blades kept Connor Bedard off the scoresheet and defeated the Regina Pats 5-2 in Western Hockey League action on Sunday. The loss snapped the Pats’ six game win streak.

Egor Sidorov scored twice for the Blades (42-13-4-1), who outshot the Pats 37-24 at the Brandt Centre.

Sam Oremba and Alexander Suzdalev scored for the Pats (31-25-2-1). Stanislav Svozil chipped in with two assists.

Bedard, who leads the WHL scoring race with 59 goals and 123 points and is expected to be the No. 1 pick in this summer’s NHL entry draft, had four shots on goal against the Blades but couldn’t beat netminder Austin Elliott.

HITMEN 4 BRONCOS 3

CALGARY, Alta. – Carter Yakemchuk scored the game-winning goal at 9:13 of the third period as the Calgary Hitmen edged the visiting Swift Current Broncos.

Sean Tschigerl scored twice for the Hitmen (25-26-5-3), while Riley Fiddler-Schultz netted a single.

Mathew Ward, Grayson Burzynski and Owen Pickering scored for the Broncos (28-28-1-2).

THUNDERBIRDS 4 AMERICANS 2

SEATTLE, Wash. – Dylan Guenther scored a goal and added an assist as the Seattle Thunderbirds edged the visiting Tri-City Americans 4-2.

Luke Prokop, Jeremy Hanzel and Jared Davidson also scored for the Western Conference-leading Thunderbirds (48-9-1-1).

Reese Belton and Jalen Luypen scored for the Americans (28-25-5-2). Belton also added an assist.

The T-Birds outshot the Americans 45-23.

WINTERHAWKS 2 SILVERTIPS 1

PORTLAND, Ore. – Gabe Klassen scored a goal and added an assist as the Portland Winterhawks edged the visiting Everett Silvertips 2-1.

Luca Cagnoni also scored for the Winterhawks (37-17-3-3), who outshot the Silvertips 43-28.

Ty Gibson scored for the Silvertips (30-26-2-1).
