Thursday Commentary: Glad Someone Said It

(Listen daily for the RP Commentary on All New Hits 98 & LTD Radio)
No random thoughts today, but there are two things which caught our eye. Surprisingly, neither have anything to do with hockey.
Got an email from the NFL Wednesday afternoon at 4 pm ET trumpeting “Free Agency is officially open!”
I nearly spit out my coffee. If it just started now, then what the hell has been going on the past three days?
And I’m not the only one who has questions. The pundits from ESPN, NFL Network, NBC Sports Radio and the rest have all said this “legal tampering” and “pre-free agency” period has been incredibly confusing. I watch ’em all.
I’m glad somebody said it!
With the fast-paced sports world of “go, go, go!” you knew somebody was gonna skin their knee and that happened when Baltimore backed out of the weekend’s Maxx Crosby deal, only after the Raiders went out and spent $200M in pre-free agency.
What? I thought it didn’t open till Wednesday?
Oops.
It’s like trying to drive in Harbour Landing. The city planners designed it, and then it’s up to you to figure it out. There’s no going back.
As my Mom said while driving around the Regina subdivision when it was new, “Whoever designed this thing sure never had to drive in it.”
Oh, and in case you missed it, Canada’s gonna meet the USA in a quarterfinal at the World Baseball Classic. We don’t have time to get into it here but suffice it to say it’s the biggest game Baseball Canada has ever played and I’ve done my best to forewarn you about the biggest thing going on in baseball; the sport’s version of soccer’s World Cup or hockey’s Four Nations Faceoff.
It’s the biggest baseball game since … since … Game 7 of last year’s World Series. Don’t be a Johnny Come Lately and miss it altogether.
Y’er welcome.
That’s today’s Rod Pedersen Commentary.

Every one of the NFL owners aquired their wealth by bending or breaking rules.
Why would they follow the free-agency rules now?
People are not looking at the Max Crosby from the right perspective Lamar Jackson his contract and his hood rat agent mother are the reason this all blew apart. Ghetto single mama he worships. Why cold feet on Crosby? He doesn’t have Jackson’s contract extension settled at a deadline. This sets tone for rest of free agency. He misses deadline. They use medical excuse. Every other team knows this. Who makes the trade the garbage Raiders. Every QB of note restructures. I have said it before. You can not give these people money. Same problem in NBA. You cant question… Read more »
Hey Leland, I’d pay money to watch you spew your drivel to people’s faces instead of hiding on the internet. I wonder if you’d be such a tough guy on the streets of Baltimore. Stay in your Saskie bubble boy. You are deranged.
Not a problem. I’ve watched The Wire three 4 times through and read David Simon’s book Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets. I already know you haven’t so you have no idea about these so called communities. In the safe confines of the area Roland Park, I’d set up a Charlie Kirk-esque booth and with a sign stating, “step up to the microphone and y’all can “axe” me anything.” The unspoken drivel I would speak is. Why are these so-called queens never pushed back on. Are we not allowed to ask what her qualifications are to be an Agent?… Read more »
