THURSDAY COMMENTARY – I SIGNED THE PETITION
(Listen daily for the Rod Pedersen Commentary on Cat Country 98 FM)
TODAY, TWO THOUGHTS IN 60 SECONDS. LET’S GO …
NUMBER ONE: I SIGNED THE PETITION. IT’S A PETITION TO THE GOVERNMENT OF SASKATCHEWAN TO ALLOW A RETURN TO PLAY FOR HOCKEY.
IT WAS LOOKING FOR A THOUSAND SIGNATURES BUT AS OF LAST NIGHT, IT HAD FAR SURPASSED THAT NUMBER.
TO ME, IT’S REALLY SIMPLE. CORONAVIRUS HAS A 99.75 PERCENT RECOVERY RATE AND SEVEN MONTHS INTO THE PANDEMIC, PEOPLE KNOW THE RISKS. THEY SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO LIVE THEIR LIVES AND NOT BE IN FEAR.
BUT HERE WE’RE JUST TALKING ABOUT HOCKEY, AT EVERY LEVEL. IF YOU WANT TO SIGN THE PETITION, YOU CAN FIND IT ON MY TWITTER AT @RODPEDERSEN.
NUMBER TWO – YOU’RE GOING TO BE HEARING A LOT OF NFL TALK ON THIS COMMENTARY AND IN THE MEDIA IN THE MONTHS AHEAD.
I’M HAPPY TO DO IT AND AFTER 20 YEARS IN PRO FOOTBALL, I CAN HOLD MY OWN IN AN NFL DISCUSSION. I’M VERY THANKFUL TO HAVE A LOT OF FRIENDS IN THE “LEAGUE”, NOT THE LEAST OF WHICH IS CLEVELAND BROWNS ASSISTANT COACH CHRIS JONES.
THE BROWNS ARE HOME TONIGHT, OPENING WEEK 2 AGAINST THE CINCINNATI BENGALS.
IT’S CALLED THE BATTLE OF OHIO AND ALL DAY TODAY IN THAT STATE IT’LL BE LIKE A NATIONAL HOLIDAY.
REMEMBER WHAT THAT FEELS LIKE? THE EXCITEMENT OF GAME DAY?
THAT’S WHAT COMES WITH SPORTS. AND THAT’S WHY I SIGNED THE PETITION.
THAT’S TODAY’S ROD PEDERSEN COMMENTARY ON CAT COUNTRY 98.
