Thursday’s Episode #214 of The Rod Pedersen Show was a real hoot with more big sports names! Here are the highlights:

  • Rod and Dupes opened with The Rollout for Flooring Superstore covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) The Calgary Stampeders posting a photo to Twitter of Bo Levi Mitchell in a PEDERSEN 19 jersey, 2) Any updates on a return to pro sports?, 3) Does Bill Peters deserve a second chance so soon?, 4) Do the Blue Jays have a chance to contend in a shortened season?, 5) Will Charleston Hughes get 28 more sacks to become the CFL’s all-time leader?, and 6) Is it acceptable to drink coffee while riding a stationary bike? (Rod described his new routine, courtesy Flaman Fitness).
  • Regarding the Stamps posting the BLM photo, Rod said Calgary’s played the ultimate mind game and admitted they beat him at his own game. RP couldn’t sleep Wednesday night! He said he was honoured that the Stampeders would do such a thing, and that his family liked the photo. The panel asked viewers if it’s time for the Cold War to be over and while the vast majority said no, Rod said perhaps it’s time that it is.
  • NHL great Wade Redden (1,023 games with OTT, NYR, STL & BOS) joined the show from his home in Kelowna for a very wide-ranging chat. The Hillmond, SK product discussed his dismay over the Memorial Cup in his backyard being cancelled, his love for the Roughriders, and what it meant to achieve 1,000 NHL games. Reddsy really lit up when he and Rod recounted old WHL playoff war stories and Wade said the highlight of his career was his 3 seasons with the Brandon Wheat Kings.
