THURSDAY RUNDOWN: THE GRIM REAPER & THE SILVER FOX

Big, big laughs and lots of ground covered on Episode #445 of The RP Show – Canada’s Talk Show! Here’s the rundown:

• RP and Dupes kicked it off with The Warmup for Four Seasons Sports Palace covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) Wednesday NHL leftovers (WTH Flames?), 2) The Pats beat the Broncos 3-2 as Connor Bedard and Carson Denomie continue to shine, 3) Claims of sexual harassment against Texans QB Deshaun Watson (Rod said it seems fishy), 4) Rod Black labels it “March Sadness” for the Raptors who’ve lost six in a row, 5) Argo Notes: Henoc Muamba signed and Ryan Dinwiddie criticizes the Riders for firing Stephen McAdoo, and 6) More on the CFL/XFL proposed deal.
• NHL and Regina Pats great Stu Grimson joined the show from Nashville for a wide-ranging chat. He said the Predators are falling out of the playoff race but he didn’t predict anything more from the Preds. Grimmer also talked about the Predators’ huge fanbase in States like Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi and all around Tennessee. We then cracked the vault on a ton of viewer questions and Grimson answered them all. He’s a USPORTS alum (University of Manitoba) and discussed all the players who went onto the NHL from Canadian university hockey. He discussed Don Cherry calling him out for criticizing fighting and how Grapes apologized after a group of players threatened legal action against the CBC. The guys chuckled over Grimson repeatedly referring to Rod as “Clark” and Stu admitted perhaps he’s suffered too many hits to the head.
• The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Will you be filling out a March Madness bracket? At press time over 70% of respondents said no.
• In Hour 2 we were joined by The Silver Fox Kelly Remple (former WWF promoter, Brett Hart’s former manager, and Warriors/Pats front office rep) and we tackled the Bedard vs Brayden buzz in the WHL, and went DEEP into the CFL/XFL talks. Kelly said it’s impossible to know where this is going since so few details have been divulged but he doesn’t think the leagues will merge. It created an incredible response from the viewers.
