TUESDAY COMMENTARY – THE GOOD, THE GREAT & THE UGLY

(Listen daily for the Rod Pedersen Commentary on Cat Country 98 FM & Rock 98.5 FM)

TODAY IT’S ANOTHER EDITION OF THE GOOD, THE GREAT AND THE UGLY.

FIRST, THE GOOD. THE TORONTO BLUE JAYS ARE IN THE EXACT POSITION THEY WANT – WITH THEIR FATE IN THEIR OWN HANDS.

THEY ARE CHASING THE NEW YORK YANKEES FOR A WILD CARD PLAYOFF SPOT AND HOST THE PINSTRIPES IN A MIDWEEK SET AT ROGERS CENTRE FOLLOWED BY A REGULAR SEASON-ENDING SERIES WITH THE WORST TEAM IN BASEBALL, THE BALTIMORE ORIOLES.

THIS IS WHERE WE SEPARATE THE MEN FROM THE BOYS. WHICH ARE THE JAYS?

THE GREAT – HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS?

DAK PRESCOTT THREW FOR THREE TOUCHDOWNS AND ZEKE ELLIOT RAN FOR TWO AS DALLAS SPANKED PHILADELPHIA 41-21 ON MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL.

THE COWBOYS ARE 2-1 – COULD BE 3-0 – AND ARE EASILY THE BEST TEAM IN THE DIVISION.

MAYBE THIS IS OUR YEAR?

AND LASTLY, THE UGLY.

THAT’S THE CFL SCHEDULE. SOMEHOW THE OTTAWA REDBLACKS PLAYED A WEDNESDAY HOME GAME LAST WEEK – THEY LOST 24-7 TO HAMILTON IN IT – AND ARE RIGHT BACK AT TD PLACE STADIUM TONIGHT AGAINST EDMONTON.

THEY WILL UNDOUBTEDLY LOSE THE RATINGS BATTLE AGAINST THE BLUE JAYS, BUT SO WHAT.

THERE ARE ALL KINDS OF STORYLINES GOING INTO THIS ONE INCLUDING THE RETURN OF GREG ELLINGSON AND COACH JAMIE ELIZONDO TO THE NATION’S CAPITAL.

COULD IT BE THE LAST GAME FOR REDBLACKS GM MARCEL DESJARDINS, WHOSE TEAM HAS LOST 11 STRAIGHT AT HOME?

WILL THE OTTAWA PLAYERS PLAY TO SAVE THEIR GM’S JOB? DO THEY EVEN KNOW OR CARE?

YOU DON’T HAVE TO LOOK TOO FAR TO FIND REASONS TO WATCH CFL GAMES.

TONIGHT IS NO EXCEPTION.
