TUESDAY RUNDOWN: BLUE JAYS, NFL, CFL & MORE!

We covered a lot of ground on Tuesday’s Episode #570 of The RP Show – Canada’s Daytime Sports Talkshow! Here’s the rundown:

RP and Moose kicked it off with The Warmup for EECOL Electric covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) The Raiders down the Ravens 33-27 in OT in a wild Monday Night Football game, 2) Alouettes coach Khari Jones has tested positive for Covid and will isolate for 10 days. Andre Bolduc will coach this week’s game versus BC, 3) The Blue Jays spank the Rays 8-1, 4) More NFL Week 1 notes, 5) Chris Jones is coming back to the CFL, and 6) RP is headed out on an NFL & NHL tour next week. We’ll disclose the location on Friday.
Sportsnet anchor Ken Reid joined the show from Toronto to discuss the Blue Jays’ hot streak. Ken was critical of the Jays this summer for mental blunders but feels if they can get past the Wild Card playoff game, they’ll be legitimate World Series contenders. The guys dabbled in NFL Week 1 chatter and the wonderful display on MNF, and sports cards since Reid is an afficianado.
The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Do you like the NFL’s overtime rule? At press time close to 70% of respondents said no, favouring the CFL’s mini-game formula.
In the Hour 2 Second Half Kickoff for CORR Grain the hosts discussed the Manning Brothers MNF broadcast, Chris Jones returning to the Argos and why head coach Ryan Dinwiddie wouldn’t be nervous, and much more.
RP Show NFL Insider Tori Gurley joined the show to break down Week 1 and feels his former team, the Packers, shouldn’t be written off despite absorbing their worst loss in the Rodgers Era (a 38-3 loss to the Saints). Tori’s quickly become a believer in rookie Patriots QB Mac Jones, isn’t a believer in the Jaguars under Urban Meyer, and feels the Steelers are legit as evidenced by their upset victory at Buffalo on Sunday. The guys sprinkled in some CFL chatter as well and Tori feels the Edmonton Elks will be a force before all is said and done.
