TUESDAY RUNDOWN: GREGOR, MILLARD AND MORE
Continuing our quest to be the Golden Corral of sportstalk, we had a little bit of everything on the buffet on Tuesday’s Episode #1,041 of The RP Show – Daytime Sportstalk – on Game+TV, WQEE Radio, YouTube Live and Podcast! Here’s the rundown:
- RP and Moose Dupont got things going with The Warmup covering these Quick Six show topics: 1) The Blue Jays open a midweek home series with San Diego Tuesday evening, 2) The Hamilton Tiger-Cats placed QB Matthew Schiltz on the 6-game Injured List and the BC Lions are opening the upper deck to ticket sales for Saturday night’s Watermelon Smash against Saskatchewan, 3) The Sask Rattlers are staying alive in the CEBL playoff race, 4) Connor Bedard’s rookie contract could earn him $4.5-million with bonuses per year, 5) RB Saquon Barkley could sit out the year for the NY Giants, and 6) NFL Divisional predictions with training camps opening this week.
- The daily Key Auto Group poll question was: How many points will Connor Bedard score as a rookie with the Blackhawks – 80+, 60-79 or 59-or-fewer? At press time, the majority voted for 60-79.
- Edmonton sportscaster Dean Millard joined the show to talk sports and said what’s holding his focus right now is the MLB races and the potential trade of Shohei Ohtani ahead of the trade deadline. “Ducky” said he’s checked out on the CFL’s Elks, and discussed joining 4Vengeance sports as a streaming play-by-play voice of various sports.
- In Hour 2 we were joined by another famous Edmonton sports voice, Jason Gregor, who discussed TSN 1260 Radio going off-air this summer, and what’s next. Regarding the Oilers, Gregor said the off-season’s been quiet but that’s because they don’t need much entering the 2023-24 season. He applauded the addition of forward Connor Brown.
- Monday’s Rockstar of the Day was Matt Dubuc. Tuesday’s was Jason Gregor!
- If you missed the show you can catch the replay at 10 pm PT/12 am CT on Game+ TV, our YouTube Channel or wherever you enjoy your podcasts.
