TUESDAY SHOW RECAP: A DOG’S BREAKFAST!
Tuesday’s show featured a motley crew of topics on Episode 170 of The Rod Pedersen Show. Here are the highlights!:
- Rod and Dupes opened with The Rollout for Flooring Superstores covering these show topics: 1) How does Streveler go to the NFL but not Bo Levi?, 2) Were you offended by the Super Bowl halftime show?, 3) The Leafs’ implosion against Florida, 4) The Jets to terminate the contract of Dystin Byfuglien, 5) James Wilder getting his release in Toronto and signing in Toronto, and 6) Gifts from the BC Lions for the bunker.
- RP Show Director of Officiating Taylor Shire from Global Regina joined the show to discuss the Battle of Alberta, fighting in hockey, and the latest in CFL free agency. Regarding Streveler, Rod said Bo Levi has a family and wants a shot at competing for a #1 NFL job where Streveler is quite a bit younger, and likely doesn’t need a guarantee from the Cardinals.
- 14-year NHL veteran Matthew Barnaby from Sirius/XM NHL Radio joined the show from his home in Ottawa to discuss all the same things, plus some of his war stories of getting death threats in Philly!
- News broke during the show that the Argos had signed QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson to a reported 1-year deal and the panel debated where that leaves free agent QB Matt Nichols.
- NHL/WHL veteran Chris Dingman joined the show from his home in Edmonton to give a life update. He won a Stanley Cup with Tampa Bay and was on their TV crew for years. He discussed how jealous he is of Flames/Oilers players who get to participate in the current Battle of Alberta. Viewers asked his recollections of the famed Wheat Kings/Raiders playoff battles of the 90’s as well.
- Saskatchewan Rush forward Ben McIntosh joined the show in advance of Saturday’s home game against Colorado. The Rush preview is for RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions. Ben explained how and why the team is 0-2 at home this year yet 3-0 on the road. He agreed with Rod that this game should be called the “Redemption Game” given the team’s poor showings at home this season, and big losses to the Mammoth. The Coquitlam, BC product also discussed being the #1 overall pick in the 2014 NLL Draft by the Rush, and how lucky he is to have been brought into a dynasty.
- Viewer Cody Sauer won a pair of tickets to Saturday’s Rush game courtesy RoxDar Supply Chain Solutions.
- The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Which CFL grad has the best chance of sticking in the NFL? – Derrick Moncrief, Tre Roberson, William Stanback or Chris Streveler. The majority of respondents voted for Moncrief.
