TUESDAY SHOW RECAP: DUNK, LULAY, NIELSON JOIN

Tuesday’s show was Episode #94 of The Rod Pedersen Show! Here are the highlights!

  • Rod and Dupes opened with The Warmup discussing Thanksgiving Weekend festivities, and recapping the Riders’ 30-28 loss in Calgary Friday night. They delved into a topic which would become a theme throughout the whole show: Officiating in sports given the controversial comments and events in Week 18 CFL games and Week 6 NFL games.
  • Riders/Stamps/Ticats alum Marshall Hamilton joined the bunker in Segment 2 to give his take on the Riders/Stamps game and said Calgary is simply the better team. However he feels the Riders could run the table to finish at 13-5, and predicted Calgary will finish 12-6, giving the Riders first-place. They also discussed the rest of the weekend’s CFL games including the Streveler/Bombers win over the Alouettes, the end of Mike Reilly’s season and what the addition of Brandon Bridge could mean for the Lions the rest of the way.
  • TSN Edmonton’s Dustin Nielson joined the show via video chat to discuss the Esks’ win over BC and what lays ahead for the Eskimos heading into the playoffs. He also gave an Oilers’ assessment, and how Monday’s loss in Chicago dampened the enthusiasm of Oilers Nation.
  • The guys talked about what intrigue is left in the CFL over the final 3 weeks since all 6 playoff spots are sewn up.
  • BC Lions great Travis Lulay joined the show from the Lions practice facility to discuss Saturday’s loss at Edmonton, the outlook moving forward, his take on football officiating, and previewed this Friday’s Riders/Lions game at BC Place. Travis also revealed that the Bombers did NOT call him when they were in search of a veteran QB near the trade deadline. He said he is comfortable with his decision to retire, and will not be returning to the field ever again as a player.
  • 3DownNation’s Justin Dunk joined the show from Edmonton to discuss a wide range of CFL topics. He said the addition of Brandon Bridge in BC is to give them a headstart on next year. He also discussed the rumoured move of the CFL to eliminate the 3rd QB from rosters as early as next season in order to make room for more Global players. Marshall Hamilton went off on that idea saying it’s “the stupidest thing I’ve heard in the last 30 years in the CFL!”
  • The daily Capital Auto Mall/Universal Collision Centre poll question was: Is it fair to expect officials to be perfect in sports? At press time, over 80% of respondents said no, it isn’t.
  • In honour of show #94, the guys discussed players who’ve worn number-94 in their careers and the group included Ryan Smyth, Charles Haley, Frank Beltre, Demarcus Ware, Jackson Jeffcoat, Brendan Shanahan and Sergei Berezin.
  • See you at 10 am MT on Wednesday on Facebook Live and RodPedersen.com/ListenLive!

Speaking of controversial. Like his controversial predecessors of the pc-sp, sm running away (unifor members deserved) when the going gets tough ala bw, bb and the other snake lackies who think they got away before their judgment day.
