TUESDAY SHOW RECAP: KILLER KAMINSKI JOINS!

Tuesday’s Episode #161 of The Rod Pedersen Show was all stick and puck! Here are the highlights:

  • With the annual SJHL/MJHL Showcase in Regina Tuesday/Wednesday, La Ronge Ice Wolves Head Coach & GM Kevin “Killer” Kaminski made his long-awaited appearance in the bunker. A very big name in hockey, the former Washington Capitals and Saskatoon Blades fighter told an hour of hockey stories and explained why he left the Fresno (CA) Monsters to takeover the Ice Wolves. Killer explained that after 30 years away from his home province, it was time to come home. The Churchbridge, SK product is the early favourite to be named SJHL Coach of the Year as his team has performed a remarkable turnaround in Year 1.
  • Kaminski discussed his infamous fight with Tie Domi ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7v1jrnd5RZY ) in the 1989 Memorial Cup, and recounted how the pair tangled in the NHL in the years that followed. He also discussed how much he loves La Ronge, bus rides, and how his daughters were Green Bay Packers cheerleaders. It was a great chat!
  • SJHL President Bill Chow and MJHL President Kim Davis joined the bunker to discuss the Showcase and the latest in their leagues. Davis explained how Winnipeg is managing as home to the NHL, AHL, WHL and MJHL. He feels there’s room for them all, and the hockey community in Winnipeg is tremendous. Chow talked about SJHL expansion, the 2022 Centennial Cup in Estevan and much more.
  • SaskTel’s Jennifer McLeod joined the show to explain Wednesday’s SaskTel Pink & White Game at the Showcase in which 600 area school kids will be in attendance and learn about SaskTel’s Be Kind Online, Anti-Bullying campaign. You can watch the game on Max TV Local or on Facebook Live from the SJHL Facebook page.
  • See you at 10:00 am CT on the RP Show on Facebook Live and RodPedersen.com/ListenLive!
