WEDNESDAY CAT COUNTRY COMMENTARY – PERCEPTION IS REALITY
(Listen daily for the Rod Pedersen Commentary at 9:50 am and 5:20 pm on Cat Country 98 FM)
SOMETIMES HOW IT LOOKS FROM THE OUTSIDE IS EXACTLY HOW IT IS ON THE INSIDE.
I GUESS YOU CAN CALL IT “PERCEPTION IS REALITY”.
IS THAT WHAT’S CURRENTLY GOING ON IN THE CFL? TOUGH TO SAY, BUT IT CERTAINLY DOESN’T LOOK GOOD.
THE CANADIAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE’S BEEN HIT WITH A TRIPLE-WHAMMY OVER THE PAST 10 DAYS. THEIR OWN DECISION TO CANCEL THE SEASON, HAVING TO HUMBLY ASK FOR MONEY VIA A NATIONWIDE FUNDRAISER, AND NOW PLAYERS ARE FLEEING EN MASSE.
I’VE SAID IT MANY TIMES; IT’S FASCINATING TO WATCH FROM THE OUTSIDE.
WHAT’S FASCINATING ABOUT IT IS WATCHING WHERE THE LEAGUE GOES FROM HERE. THE MONEY RAISED FROM THE FUNDRAISER WILL BE NOWHERE NEAR WHAT’S REQUIRED TO KEEP THIS LEAGUE AFLOAT.
THERE’S GOING TO NEED TO BE AN OUTSIDE SOURCE INJECTING TENS, IF NOT HUNDREDS, OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS INTO A LEAGUE THAT LOSES MILLIONS EVEN IN THE GOOD TIMES.
THE DECISION-MAKERS DON’T SEEM TO WANT TO CHANGE THEIR WAYS VERY BADLY, BUT IF THEY DON’T THIS LEAGUE IS GOING TO FOLD, GUARANTEED.
THAT LOOKS BAD ENOUGH. AND IT SEEMS LIKE DAILY CFL PLAYERS ARE RIPPING UP THEIR CONTRACTS INCLUDING BIG NAMES LIKE JON RYAN, BRETT LAUTHER, DEON LACEY AND DAKODA SHEPLEY.
IT LOOKS REAL BAD FROM THE OUTSIDE BUT IS IT REALLY THAT BAD? I’M AFRAID THAT IT IS.
THAT’S TODAY’S ROD PEDERSEN COMMENTARY ON CAT COUNTRY 98.
