Wednesday Commentary: Good News

(Listen daily for the RP Commentary on All New Hits 98 & LTD Radio)
It’s Random Thoughts Wednesday! Let’s have a look:
#1 – Boy oh boy, what a time to be alive! It’s the busiest time of the sports calendar which means it’s a lot to keep track of but it’s also great for a guy like me. Game 4 of the World Series Tuesday night was a cliffhanger, and the Tampa Bay Rays staved off a sweep by beating Milwaukee 4-3 in 12 innings. The Brewers will look to lock it up again tonight in Game 5. I love how they play every night.
#2 – There’s not much more exciting than the CFL playoffs, and remember the Division Semifinals go Saturday. The oddsmakers are favoring the home teams in these ones. They’ve got the Argos as 4.5-point favorites against Winnipeg at BMO Field and the BC Lions as 6.5-point favorites over the Riders at BC Place.
I’m taking the Argos and Riders to win, but have several days left of picks and previews with our pundits before kickoff.
#3 – Very, very interesting times in the NHL. And not necessarily good, from what I see. Vegas beat Ottawa 4-1 in the Fortress last night but they’re saying it was the lowest attendance in Golden Knights history. It’s happening in Canada too. How do they turn this around?
Meanwhile Connor Hellebuyck won his Devils debut, as New Jersey thumped Dallas 5-1 and his old team, the Winnipeg Jets, are winless in six without him after falling 5-1 to the visiting Florida Panthers.
Somebody please … give me some good news.

3. Too many teams, too many games, prices (especially food and beverages!) are insane. I don’t usually start watching until after Christmas anyway…….and now I’ll watch LESS because I’m not buying all or even one streaming service. Pro sports, like the government, thinks the consumer/taxpayer is a bottomless pit of money…….and the wall has been hit.
